Eugene Bareman got that ‘Kiwi Edmond’ energy…

Except he coaches a dominant Champion and co trains another dominant champion and has good B, C level fighters like Hooker, Kai, Riddell etc.. yeah Just like Edmund. Fcking shertards man.

I don't think he is Edmund. He allows fighters to crosstrain and bring in guys to help them improve their skillset. They bring in wrestlers and BJJ guys from America. I think he does more than Javier Mendez.

The funniest thing about Volk is how he destroyed a pure Ckb product in Shame Young.

Generally whatever the obese MMA guru says I go the opposite. Bateman may be insufferable in interviews sometimes but he has produced some serious top talent. Anyone denying that is blind

He has some Edmond/Kavanagh-ish qualities in the sense that he was never worth anything as a fighter himself and now uses his far more talented fighter's fame to promote himself and constantly spout self-important bullsh*t.

But unlike them he is actually a talented trainer who has built a strong roster of fighters and is not just piggy-backing off one talent. There has never been a rule that a dickhead can't also be a good trainer.

I agree with your post except the part in bold. Jose Mourinho was a D2 soccer player in Portugal and became one of the best trainers ever. Lots of champs can't train anyone for shit. Performing and teaching are two different skillsets

my thoughts are you are clueless braindead shertard exemplified by "Izzy would have become a much more well-rounded fighter if he’d had a better coach in my opinion"

CKB over a decade ago was a bunch of MMA enthuisiasts, Eug, some good local talent (Izzy + others) and Doug Viney. Over this time they've built world class fighters despite only being standup, having no funding, bottom of the world in NZ, no wrestling!. They largely built this up all themselves. Izzy's been a part of it from day 1, as has Eug.

Volk started at CKB? nope wrong you fn muppet, he started in Aus. You and your MMA guru dipshit buddy are keyboard tapping incels, you will never understand having good relationships with other gyms / fighters etc enables you to cross train, pick up skills, learn off each other, level up, get different looks / ideas / techniques / strategies etc. Synergy. Instead you try and frame it into a contest of who's to thank for who's success, who deserves the credit etc. Butthurt mentality. Shertard mentality.

And heres the DDP situation. The guy is clueless how to manage his career, his own fault.

In the interview they even joke the only 2 excuses to get out of a fight are you are either getting married or your kids being born.
Damn I just pulled out of a fight because I was sick for two whole weeks and was afraid I wasnt going to be able to get in shape and make weight

I've been saying he's like Edmond for the a while now, he is fortunate that Adesanya is very talented.

He coached Izzy from day 1... This is an awful take from the TS. If you don't like the guy then whatever but to say he's Edmond 2.0 because you don't like his takes and the MMA "Guru" <Lmaoo>dislikes like him is utterly stupid. When did people get this emotional?

I don't want to beat the DDP situation again but let's be frank:
- If Khamzat beats Costa then UFC will push for the Adesanya fight
- If Pereira wins the 205 belt then UFC will push for the Adesanya fight

In no way is DDP eclipsing those 2 fights. If you truly believe that then you are a mark. He had Adesanya build the fight and decided his "foot" hurt to lose the opportunity to Strickland. <45>

He has 1 fighter, I don't think he's a good coach. I think Israel is just that talented and would have still be something in combat sports even without Bareman as a coach. Bareman is overrated IMO.

Nope, he is doing a good job and right about DDP, who was front of the line but now can be as far back as third.

Edmund is in a tier all his own. No one comes close.

What a beta, nerdy way to try to get your point across.

Take the incel talk to reddit.

Sorry but there's no way I'm watching this guy talk for 22 minutes what is your main point? Coaches of big mma gyms or champion UFC fighters get a big ego? Yeah that is often true.

Oh come on dude, “who have you trained” - that’s just a reductive, moot point. Who have any of us trained, god forbid someone critiques a coach on the internet without having coaching credentials themselves! Stop acting like you’re above it, you clearly have criticised human beings before, don’t try that boring card.

My point is that Eugene has taken a consistently reduced role in Alex’s career. At first it was full-on Head Cornerman type of stuff, but Alex has somewhat detached himself from that. He isn’t as much of a product of CKB as Hooker or Izzy (in my opinion).

That’s all I was saying.

I would agree with this, Alex is more a product of the gym in Wollongong with Joe Lopez. I thought he only works with CKB in training camps and Lopez and Bareman sort of both coach him, don't know the ins and outs. But yeah he's more Lopez than Bareman I reckon, you'd be mad to not at least try CKB if you're in this area of the glove.

I never disputed that. I was just drawing the comparison that all of these guys were relatively crap fighters themselves, which underscores their arrogance.

When Bareman goes off on one of his ridiculous tirades against DDP or Whittaker, it is worth remembering that these guys would have absolutely murdered him when he was a professional fighter himself.

This says nothing about his qualities as a trainer but it does say something about his qualities as a person.
