Sumo Eternal Sumo thread - Currently July 2025 Tournament in Nagoya

What’s the best way to watch? I’ve been watching a YouTube channel that uploads same day a couple hours after each day and it seems to just use the same audio per day but it’s in Japanese so I can’t really tell or know lol. It’s been reliable enough and easy to follow but just wondering if there’s something more legitimate/better. I don’t mind watching a bit delayed since timezones but just want to have something consistent for each event

Ended up watching the first week and then got busy and just watched the last 2-3 days. Fun stuff and hoping to continue getting into it. Still don’t really know much about sumo but I do like to pretend I lnow what’s going on with my previous wrestling/BJJ experience lol
Best one i found is a twitch channel called MidnightSumo. the guy streams the ENTIRE day, so from the lowest ranks. you can watch it live, for me it's easy since i'm in eastern euro and the timezone difference makes it to be in the morning, which is great for me.
other ways to watch live is to just type "sumo live" in youtube and you'll get at least a couple of channels that livestream it.
for just the matches, the link that @Stormtrooper85 posted is quite good.

Well this doesn't sound good. imagine how bad he situation is for the yokozuna that you have people wondering if winning TWO consecutive basho is enough. if 3 basho becomes the norm i imagine we'd have one yokozuna a decade, and a good number of ozeki that could have been.

I think the real issue is they're hung up on finding the next Hakuho despite having forced Hakuho out.
They think Asashoryu and Hakuho are the rule and not the exception. Every Yokozuna isn't putting up 20 30 or 40 yusho.
11 - 4 is not great for a Yokozuna but Harumafuji won a yusho on an 11 - 4
I think the YDC needs to take a look in the mirror before the criticize people.

Asashoryu and hakuho left a crater after them. I dunno if we'll get to see 25 plus yusho too soon. Nevermind 45.

If Onosato fixes his flaws I can see him getting double digits. 10 maybe. That's impressive. A Dai Yokozuna is a great accomplishment. Harumafuji was one basho short of that mark and he was a great Yokozuna, he got me into Sumo. I heard people talk about him and I checked out some videos.

Think about how long sumo has existed, how many have competed and only 74 people have been Yokozuna and really only 1 of them was the least deserving Mr Zero Yusho. The YDC will do anything but evolve with the times.
