I mean Taila Santos was arguably the champion and Blanchfield is the Merab of the division...so yeah

Well, we got a WMMA Merab fight here.

Blanchfield looked like crap on her feet. Santos was comfortably winning the fight until she unnecessarily attempted that takedown in the second and ended up on the bottom. Blanchfield didn't do shit. She won by wall and stall. I don't think she earned herself a title shot after that performance.

Whoever looks more impressive. At the moment I am leaning towards the Rose/Manon winner.

I agree, she didn't look that impressive to me, therefore she might not get the shot.

Erin should it was a tough fight and she won it smart. BUT this is UFC and rose or Manon will get it you can tell from the card placement and how Bisping was instructed to do the post fight interview. Erin still young so not a big deal she probably gets the loser of val/grasso if not the title or a longer break.

Erin is right there but Manon was number 1 before her knee.

So it’s very possible they could give Manon/Rose the next TS.

Personally I want Erin, but if Manon beats Rose she earned being next, imo.

Manon should never have been no.1 with her only good win coming from beating Walmart Holly Holm, in a boring 15 minute point kick boxing fight.

Rose is also shit, definitely the worst modern champion we’ve had and she’s not even a 125er.
But did you miss the part where she WON all of those fights?

You forgot the part where Erin was taking over the striking and dropped Santos in rd 3

Santos shouldn't have attempted that takedown, because she was easily winning on her feet, but it was sheer luck on Erin's side what changed the outcome of the fight. Go rewatch the takedown attempt. Erin rebounded against the fence when Santos was successfully taking her down and landed on top. Santos, who was returning from injury and hadn't fought in 14 months, gassed out getting back up. It was a different fight after that. If Santos hadn't attempted that takedown, she would have probably won with ease. And she wasn't dropped in the third. It was failed takedown attempt.

Sounds like Talia made mistakes and Erin capitalized. Such is the game

If Namajunas wins, for sure she will have the title shot
If Fiorot wins impressively, she will have the shot. If it's a mediocre victory, she will not
By the way, Blanchfield struggled with Talia's athleticism in the clinch. Not sure how she will handle a Fiorot if there is a title eliminator

Sounds like Erin got lucky. She was actually getting taken down (something she couldn't accomplish in 14 attempts), rebounded against the fence and was fortunate to land on top.

It all hinges on Rose. If she wins in Paris she'll almost certainly get the next shot, unless her fight with Fiorot somehow ends up looking like her last fight with Esparza.

Not 100% though, if Shevchenko gets her belt back vs Grasso they may try to do a trilogy fight lol.
