Media Erin Blancfield: "Valentina's ground game is very, very basic"

Blanchfields wrestling looked poor against aldrich and had all of her takedown attempts easily defended against andrade until she popped andrades breast out of her top

Erin should keep harping on about Val's ground game, it's her only way to victory and you know the champ's ego is such that she'll take Blanchfield down just to prove her wrong.

Valentina is definitely solid on the ground. However, there are levels to this, and Blanchfield is definitely at a completely different one compared to Valentina. The same, however, can be said about Valentina's striking in comparison, she's at a completely different level.

Val ragdolled and crucifixed Andrade at will throughout their fight.

Blanchfield got all her takedowns stuffed until andrades breast popped out of her top which allowee blanchfield to capitalise, which she didn't fantastically.

In no way have we seen that blanchfields ground game is a 'completely different level' to shev

If Valentina is getting hit that would be because of Grasso's boxing. She's one of the best boxers in wmma. Muay thai tends to have a weakness vs boxing based fighters that can check kicks. So Grasso has ways to win the striking exchanges.
Valentina isn't just a MT fighter. She has more boxing experience than Grasso even though Grasso grew up in a boxing family. Valentina has a master of sports in boxing. It's not a degree or anything. It just means she won a national title at an amateur level. She also has more than ten pro boxing fights. Valentina isn't exactly clueless when it comes to boxing. Valentina isn't even a big low kicker. I am assuming you mean checking low kicks because I can't remember many instances of people checking body kick.

Valentina can make the same claim about Blanchfield's striking. I don't believe Blanchfield can strike with Valentina in terms of landing shots on her. If that happens then Valentina has aged out as a fighter.
Blanchfield striking is utter dog shit

She is out of her prime. She's 35.
Plenty of fighters have still been in their primes at or even over 35. The jury is still out on whether Valentina is or isn't. Even if she is out of her prime, I expect her to mow through Grasso.

Most fighters are out of their primes at 35 whether it be in relation to athleticism, durability, etc. There's a reason why the oldest UFC Lightweight champion ever was 34. Now to which degree they're out of their prime is relative to the fighter, but I would say anyone still in their prime at 35 is is the very rare exception.

Oh if it goes to the ground you'll see.

I think Erin would be surprised.
