Epic Sports & Entertainment, a New York-based company that’s new to the boxing business, submitted the winning offer of $1,500,111 during a purse bid at the IBF’s headquarters in Springfield, New Jersey. The company, with which longtime boxing attorney John Wirt is involved, easily surpassed the offers submitted by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing (Whyte) and Team Sauerland (Pulev).

Hearn bid $831,111. Team Sauerland bid $801,305.

So a company that doesn’t represent either fighter won the rights to hold the fight?

Is there any precedent for this? Seems very weird to me.

What’s with the $111 on the end of two of the bids?

Lol I thought the same thing , this company money laundering?

Really surprised Hearn didn't offer more money, with how much he has been throwing around, offering fighters. Plus he has talked Whyte up quite a bit, then offers him a shit payday? lol

Is Epic the same as Epix?

Because Epix is also in New York and has a $50 million boxing budget per year

Whyte is guaranteed a certain purse by Hearn anyway. And it’s more than the 25% of the purse bid.
