Epic performance by Barboza. That come from behind victory was amazing. Then seeing his post-fight interview where he thanked his wife. Just a pleasure to watch. Credit to both fighters. They both gave it their all and both seem like genuinely decent guys. Respect.

His cardio was on point tonight. On that note, he looked as ripped as I've ever seen him in the cage. Literally zero fat on him.

Edson is the man in stand up but he's weakness is wrestlers. If he worked more on his BJJ, he just might join Glover ( when over 40 ) to have a legit shot at title.
However at 39, his body has already been so battered, it would be a minor miracle.

Yup. Guy started getting a lot of hate after the Pearson split decision and then when Varner KO'd him there were lot of "Edson was never that good" bs.

Edson is awesome. He is missing a few things that would have made him a title contender but who cares, he fights to his best abilities and has given us amazing finishes. He's had an amazing career. Always looking forward to his fights win or lose.

I think it would have to be a generous title shot.

But the Yair fight might actually be the most plausible path.

I'm happy Barboza won, but I'll be real.

I don't know how that fight wasn't a draw, and I'm very surprised that not a single judge had it scored that way. Rd. 1 was a clear 10-8 for Sodiq. I thought Sodiq had a noticeable edge in rd. 2 as well, which would get him a 10-9. The rest were 10-9s for Barboza. 47-47.
