Environment and the right

<YeahOKJen>
I think some of you lefties have to be trolling. Talk about "patently false".
1. Not a leftist. 2. It's very true. Unless you count extreme/special cases like Qatar.

And old. And industrial.

I concede I overstated. Can you provide counters or directions though?

ARAMCO, Huawei, Gazprom and The Vatican all seem capitalist at heart to me, they just belong to closed systems that benefit a few, with predetermined outcomes for the many. Even despotic African, South American or hermit kingdoms seem all about that money and infrastructure. Everything is still based on fossil fuels as well, hallmark of the old way.

Then, although youre free to pursue a dream in western style democracies, its mostly a pipe dream without starting capital or a hell of an idea. An idea which can be stolen in places with patent protection too, like Edison and Morgan shafting Tesla.

Anyway Im starting to ramble and thats enough ignorant spew from me in this thread, Ill take my humbling like a champ.

The question is who are theses Americans? I can. None of my friends and family have a problem either. I don’t doubt they are out there, but a blanket statement doesn’t make sense.

edit: I DONT doubt they exist. Typo

I'm sorry, I'm confused. You ask who these Americans with jobs are that can afford healthcare, and then list yourself and all your friends and all your family as examples of Americans who can afford healthcare. You want more examples in addition to yourself and everybody you know?

you are welcome to go live the green life. show us how its done.

Respectfully, this is a strange response to my comment. I think you are misunderstanding my point. I said nothing at all about the green life. I was merely observing that it is incorrect to describe the governments of all nations as old, industrial, and capitalistic.

No.

Was more of a response to the guy you quoted, saying Americans can not afford health insurance. Which Americans cannot afford it? Because me and mine are Americans, and doing fine paying for it.

Actual conservatives used to give a shit about the environment, think of Burke: ''we are temporary possessors or life renters of this world and have a moral obligation not to squander our natural inheritance, lest we leave to those who come after a ruin instead of a habitation."
Take some of the greatest conservative writers also, Tolkien wrote LOTR also as an allegory of enviromental preservation, TS Eliot was highly critical of industrialization and urbanization and the degradation it brought not only to the environment but also to human existence itself that becomes regimented, deadening toil. There has always been a critique of unfettered capitalism and its effects on environment and society in traditional conservative thought while the Republican party in the US is the embodiment of that type of capitalism and not a single fuck is given to its negative externalities, if anything they facilitate those thru constant deregulation and slashing of protections to please their corporate overlords.

Agreed. I think he is unemployed, which is why he can't afford health insurance or anything else.

Conservatives still care about the environment. We just see the climate change scheme for what it is. After all, it isn't like the pioneers of this scam haven't admitted over and over what the purpose is. It isn't about saving the environment. It is about a war on capitalism.

"No matter if the science of global warming is all phony…climate change [provides] the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world." -Christine Stewart, Canadian Minister of the Environment

“One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth.” -IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer

“We’ve got to ride the global-warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing, in terms of economic policy and environmental policy.” -Timothy Wirth, Clinton Administration Under Secretary of State

“I would freely admit that on global warming we have crossed the boundary from news reporting to advocacy.” -Charles Alexander, Time magazine science editor

Who is this "Global" person and why are they "Warming?".

Agreed. I think he is unemployed, which is why he can't afford health insurance or anything else.

Why don’t you just do a google search to see that you’re wrong.

Instead you talk shit, lie, make up lies about me, basically you do everything except learn anything.

But that’s how you stay so stupid.

Do a google search to confirm you don’t have a job?

So Exxon, Chevron, Conoco Philips, BP, Shell, Petronas, Saudi Aramco, Total Oil, Repsol, PetroBras, Suncor and the other top oil companies in the world are part of a war on capitalism? All of these companies accept the scientific consensus and have statements affirming their agreement on their website.

"Chevron is taking prudent cost-effective actions to address climate change and is committed to working with policymakers to design balanced and transparent greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions policies that address environmental goals and ensure consumers have access to affordable, reliable and ever cleaner-energy"

https://www.shell.com/sustainability/environment/climate-change/adapting-to-climate-change.html

"As the world experiences more extreme weather conditions linked to climate change – such as flooding and water shortages caused by droughts – governments, businesses and local communities need to think seriously about their adaptation strategies.

Adaptation reduces the vulnerability of assets, infrastructure, environmental systems and communities to extreme variability in weather due to climate change. Within our operations we take steps at our facilities around the world so that we are more resilient to climate change."

http://www.conocophillips.com/sustainability/managing-climate-related-risks/

"As we work to safely find and deliver energy to the world, addressing climate-related issues is a high priority. We recognize that human activity, including the burning of fossil fuels, is contributing to increased concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the atmosphere that can lead to adverse changes in global climate. While uncertainties remain, we continue to manage GHG emissions in our operations and to integrate climate change-related activities and goals into our business planning."

No. They’re useful idiots easily cowed by cry-bullies and bunk science.
