They live on forever of course, but some people are drawn to them, those that died young, in the prime of their lives and didnt have a chance to decline yet.

So who do you find interesting?

Cliff Burton (Metallica)

Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne)

Chris Cornell
I mean, its not exactly what I mean by early. The guy was able to make a long career of music.

Someone like Cliff Burton was only around for like 4 years. Played on 3 Metallica LP's.

He's mysterious in that sense...but his music is immortal.

Jay Reatard was one that got me. Full of punk energy, prolific and probably the most exciting artist from that scene for a while. Passed away in his sleep at 29 when he was starting to gain popularity that might have moved him out of the underground scene.

Blood visions is a classic album imo

Witold Kiełtyka aka Vitek, who was the drummer for Decapitated and joined them as a 12 year old. He was killed at only 23 when his tour bus collided with another truck (Injuring another member of the band too). His older brother Vogg is still in Decapitated to this day

He was 16 on Decapitated's debut album and a total beast

There's a really interesting docu about him. Nice to see him being mentioned here 👍

Kurt Cobain. Sure, he was famous, so it's not like he's enigmatic in that sense.

Still, Nirvana made only 3 "actual" records. Only one after their big breakthrough.

Would have been interesting to see what they (and Kurt) would have done.

Foo Fighters possibly wouldn't exist.

D. Boon from the Minutemen. Died in a car crash at the age of 27.

A pretty infamous one would be Euronymous. A massive early influence on Norwegian black metal with his band Mayhem, wound up getting murdered by Varg Vikernes (aka Burzum, another huge figure in black metal history), who is nowadays free from prison after serving a 15 year stretch. Included in this story is the suicide of Mayhem's lead vocalist 'Dead' at the age of 22, who had his own rivalry with Euronymous

Foo Fighters are great...but really no loss if the possibility of Nirvana being around was there instead.
