English man was acquitted of rape at retrial but has had an SRO (Sexual Risk Order) place on him by the Police.

A man cleared of rape who must give police 24 hours’ notice before he has sex is to go on hunger strike in protest over the ruling.

In 2015 the British gov. introduced a law (Sexual Risk Order) that requires individuals the police have placed this Order on to inform the police 24hrs prior to any sexual activity. The Order requires the individual inform the police of the female partner's Name, Address, Age .

Sexual risk orders are civil orders imposed by magistrates at the request of police. In this case, the man “must disclose the details of any female including her name, address and date of birth... at least 24 hours prior to any sexual activity taking place.”

It is hardly practical for a person to inform the cops or anyone 24 hrs prior to sex; I mean it's not like these things are planned soo well in advance if you are meeting a new person.

Yes, since there is only an indirect democracy we will keep getting ridiculous laws that have no support in the people. It doesn't help that people keep voting the same two parties everytime, leading to a lack in incentives for politicans to not do whatever they want.
