I've heard a lot of bad things about eminent air

I've heard alot of good things about sitmonchai and can't recall any negative comments about it but its also about 2hrs 30mins from bangkok so its pretty isolated

Don't no anything about eminent sorry

know any other quality gyms in bangkok?

oh really like what? is there any good gyms you know of in bangkok
Like they don't give a shit about foreigners, but I've heard great things about sitmonchai, you can also try gyms like sitsongpeenong, petchyindee, lookbanyai etc

Not so sure about 'don't give a shit about foreigners.....'

I've been there and this is far from true. In the middle of my stay they had a promotion on at Lumpini and in the run-up to that still got good training, rounds, sparring, etc...

Admittedly we did get a higher level of attention in the week after the promotion, as the top fighters were resting.

There are enough trainers to ensure everybody is looked after. However it is not a gym for beginners, and certainly nothing like an island tourist gym. But if you get up every morning, do your running, and do your bag work, weights, etc, you will get treated well.

But you have to remember it is a top gym with top level fighters, and that is first and foremost their priority...

Outside of the gym, you will get a basic room, and the food is absolutely top notch. It's not in a particularly tourist area, but there's lotus, 7-11, massage, etc, all within 10 minutes walk, and the sky train is only 15 mins walk away.

Wasn't eminent air awarded best gym award a couple years ago?

Strictly training, Eminentair. Sitmonchai if you're more into kickboxing and have bought into the fictitious Sitmonchai hype.

definitely go to eminent air for authentic muay thai training

when did you go train there? what was a usual day of morning and afternoon training and any pad holder you recommend? Probably dominant air, sitmonnchai to far and way to expensive

Sitsongpeenong, Kaewsamrit, and FA Group, come to mind.
Sitmonchai is ok but just way outside Bangkok.

have you been to any of the ones you've stated I'm interested in FA especially what are they like if you've been to any of them

Was there a couple of years ago.

Typical morning was out running about 6-30am for about 50mins, then would skip and stretch for about half an hour. The schedule for each day was never fixed, but always included clinching, sparring, pad work, bagwork. Whether you would be sparring/clinching with the fighters, a trainer, or another "tourist" would depend on your level.

For example when I was there in the build up to their show, there was no chance of me sparring with the fighters, so I was usually up against someone else, but after the show I sparred a couple of fighters (Victor Ngabe and Chok)....

Finished off with a simple weights circuit.

Afternoon the same but a shorter run of maybe 20mins.

Not really possible to "choose" a trainer as they are committed to their fighters, unless you are doing privates outside the usual times. But Suriya is the best and most knowledgable trainer I've ever come across. They have a bigger guy (Fahlep) for the heavier people training, and there are always enough trainers.

It really isn't suitable for a complete beginner. I had been to Sinbi the year before, and certainly benefitted from the experience of that before going to Eminent Air. (Sinbi also an excellent gym, but obviously more set up for tourists).

But if you're prepared to be independent in getting out running, working hard when told to use the bag, stick around and do the weight circuits with the fighters, you will get well looked after, whatever your level.
