Economy Elon says Americans suck praises Chinese workers

Sure thing, technology plays a huge role. The fact of the matter is American workers are producing more than in any period in history, and yet their share of the wealth is increasingly shrinking. Why would your labor force be motivated if they're not partaking in the fruits of their labor?

It will only get worse in USA as well.

People worshipping Musk are delusional as well. Here he is trashing American workers and arguing for China first but because he will reverse Trumps twitter ban, Trumpers will forgive him

Hunter gatherers as we lived for 500,000 years and still dispersed today a little, worked 2 hrs a day to sustain and suffered none of the "diseases of civilization"
(heart attack and stroke, cancers, lung diseases, kidney diseases, nor “the diseases of despair” (addiction, overdose, suicide, gun violence), obesity and diabetes, infertility, accidents, wars, civil unrest, etc.

We took a wrong turn many years ago IMO

I took a state job for 30 years and did as little as possible recognizing this.
Yes hunter gathers didn’t have to worry about gun violence. They really has it better than us

I could certainly be wrong, but I don't buy it. Productivity isn't just a product of work ethic - it's a product of the conditions of work. A guy with a forklift is more productive at moving boxes than a guy doing it by hand, but if the guy with the forklift shows up late every and cuts out early, taking long breaks, he may be a far less hard working individual than the guy loading boxes by hand. I see a generational gap in work ethic that does not square with that graph, whereas what's on that graph squares perfectly with increases in the technology that is available. Again, could be wrong, and I'd be curious to see more detailed analyses than a .jpg graph with no context.
Every generation in history thinks the new generation is lazy.

I don't see Elon working his life away for someone else's dreams and ambitions.

It's a lot easier to justify working yourself to the bone on something that's directly tied to you.

The Chinese are essentially slaves so no shit they work long hard hours for little pay.

Well, he's right. Americans apparently have to import Mexicans to get work done.
And since America is drifting ever-closer to becoming an authoritarian police state, its system is running out of selling points when compared to China's. At the moment, you have nothing over them aside from their psychotic recent response to covid.
It's really unfortunate that the past few generations of Americans have squandered and corrupted the aspirations of the country they inherited. 'Cos the whole world is going to be paying the price.

You guys should also all take a bit of a look at yourselves - getting all offended when someone points out that you're not the greatest in some or the other areas is pointless, and it tends to just result in you resting on your laurels while the rest of the world closes the gap with you (or, in China's case, starts overtaking you).
This whole "American Exceptionalism" thing is as ideologically self-destructive as 1940's Germany's belief in the innate superiority of the Aryan race. It convinces you of your supremacy, despite all evidence to the contrary, and compels you to make stupid decisions based on assumptions of your invincibility. The Chinese, with their belief in their destiny, could have a similar problem but they're at least still making decisions predominantly based on real-world circumstances, which American leadership has stopped doing.

"They're slaves" is just a knee-jerk emotional response to fears of inadequacy.

musk did NOT point out that we are not the greatest (but we aren't and who cares anyway).... he pointed out that we are less exploitable by him.

That's one perspective.
And it's the one that means China's probably gonna continue beating the shit out of you. The Chinese have a vision for their nation, and they're willing to endure a lot to achieve it.
Americans don't have a vision for their nation, and they're not really working towards anything. They've completely lost their national vitality.

Again, "they're slaves" is just a manifestation of insecurity.

maybe so but NO WAY is treating american citizens like robots and using them up the right way to go and no wonder a cunt like musk prefers the idiots who dont mind being used up for his gain to people that know better.

Sure. But he didn't suggest that. His suggestion seemed to be that Americans stop being lazy.
If not being lazy is seen as being a slave in America, then Americans are dooming their country to weakness, which will eventually make them someone's slaves anyway.

If China sucks so bad and is evil, you probably shouldn't be using laziness as an excuse to surrender to them. But, you do you.

no.... he framed lazy in direct contrast to a population in china where people are absolutely exploited and used up like they are not even human. musk will never be rich enough or powerful enough and no one will ever work hard enough for him because he has a hunger no thing can ever fill. he is spiritually sick.

Well you make some good points.

US is dystopian. If one is Chinese or in favor of their vision of world order it makes sense to live there especially if you arent in poverty.

The American exceptionalism by the Neocons, Neoliberals, and corporate stooges is just so deluded

He's right. The Chinese I know works 14 hours a day for half the price, never complains, produces twice as much, never misses a day.

In nearly every job I've worked, going above and beyond was not a pathway to better wages, or promotions... it simply made my ability to do more in that role apparent and anything less than that was me not working hard, even if others did far less than me working at a normal pace.

Today's hard work is tomorrow's expectation.

You're completely dodging anything resembling a valid point, and just continuing to scree about Musk.
The reality is that if you're too lazy too excel, you're probably losing.
America is lazy and losing. You can hate Musk as much as you want, but your laziness ensures that China's ambitions are more likely to be realised. China's a manufacturing powerhouse while Americans sit around boasting about every chance they get to not have to go to work and importing cheap labour from Mexico as if that's not exploitative. <Lmaoo><Lmaoo>

Given that you're happy to enable China's rise in power and influence, just so that you can indulge your own laziness, how are you anything other than spiritually sick? Sloth's a sin, isn't it?
Come to think of it, is there even one of the sins that America is not a near-perfect manifestation of?

You probably shouldn't be throwing stones from that glass house of yours.

Personally, I'm not in favour of the way China does things. Though, I think that their drive for multipolarity makes them de facto morally superior to the West, who are intent on maintaining a totalitarian global order.

A very successful restaurant chain in my area went under. They are super busy and super profitable. They simply can't get anyone to work. They raised wages as high as possible and still no applicants. Been I was in college we beat each other to death for jobs. LoL
A place went under from too much business? That doesn’t make sense even if you don’t have enough staff , you should be able to keep a business with such high demand.
