Elite boxing skills of Jon Jones vs Wilder

Cool, now do basketball skills with Jones vs James Harden. Because comparing the sports skills of MMA fighters with guys in other sports never gets old.

If we take 2018 Game 7 Harden they are close to be honest.

Best Heavyweight boxers on the planet are Wilder, Fury who ko'd Wilder but also accidentally punched himself in the face and Joshua who is a bodybuilder that got ko'd by Ruiz. Boxing is a D level sport confirmed.
Lol

Lol I remember when a guy told me that Jones is a better boxer than Jose Aldo. Some people don’t know what they’re watching. Jones’ boxing has gotten better but it’s definitely not good.

Jones has better MMA striking then anyone hes faced.

There is no boxing or BJJ in MMA. We are past that

Honestly.. this.. ^

People always go on about how mostly knock out artists lack this and that skill.. if it isn't cardio it's technique or defensive skills.. while they are easily cutting through people with tonnes of the skills they lack..

Yes, one day they will run into a guy that can neutralize them and win..

But that doesn't change a guy like rumble being able to handle 5 bispings in a row.. no disrespect to bisping btw but bisping who is a masterful technician with tonnes of cardio/heart etc will hardly be able to hurt rumble and will get clipped..

Same with grapplers.. i've never heard of anyone having a grapplers chance.. it's always a punchers chance.. say against prime bj, chuck or aldo you had a grapplers chance..

The way i see it against a guy like wilder people have a grapplers/cardio monsters/technicians chance..
Aldo has the best TDD in mma history imo and the rare blue moon when Aldo did hit the ground he was impossible to keep down.

He goes in the puncher's chance category.

Yeah.. that's what i'm saying.. if you're a wrestler you have a "wrestlers chance" against a guy like aldo.. but people always call it a fluke when ko artists ko someone or strikers outstrike someone..

Its always "if he can keep it standing", never "if he can get it to the ground".. just an observation..

Jon is an elite mmartist.... upper tier goat.
However elite boxing skills and Jon shouldnt be in same sentence. His impressive unorthodox standing skills are enough to deal with.

Jones boxing looked good against Gus in the second fight

His footwork was excellent but he used it to avoid a boxing match, since a boxing match is where Gus shines against him like in the first fight. He made it a kickboxing match with disguised takedowns.

Blame it on a society that's so intertwined with boxing that street fights have unwritten rules. Think about how many times in your life you seen a fight get broken up as soon as it hit the ground.

True..

I've actually gotten chewed out by a guy who was trying to fight me for putting him in various locks and throwing him around.. i'm at best a mediocre fighter (i get my ass kicked a lot) but the difference between someone who trained and someone who never trained is noticable..

I was like what the hell.. i'm doing my best not to hurt your ass and you're mad because i won't fight you "like a man"? You want to get knocked out on concrete?

Even in MMA, with way different, and generally simpler striking, guys who just have 'crazy power' tend to get KTFO once they face someone with decent striking. So not sure how the hell would that work in high level boxing.

Reach, power, cardio, basic technique, and patience can go a long way. Wilder has the perfect style for his physical gifts. Doesn't matter how rounds you lose if you end knocking your opponents out.

"Fight me like a man" = give me a better chance of winning and hurting you

No I won't. I'm better off breaking your wrist and watching you roll around in pain while the police show up.
