Elections Electoral voting today

I think this is a pretty good encapsulation of the end of the Trump era. He's done a far, far, far, far better job of destroying conservatism and, to a lesser extent, Christianity than any liberal or any atheist could possibly have done. This country's turned into a third world laughingstock in so many ways.

Lol. Trump came out immediately issued a statement condemning political violence and telling the protestors to disburse. Obama has never once condemned BLM or Antifa. When asked to condemn Antifa, Biden pretended they didn't even exist, as though the riots we watched play out for months never happened.
After timing his rally to coincide with the count, riling them up with false claims of fraud, and suggesting they march on the Capital building. You sound like a dickhead pulling that but Obama out of your ass.

"Asked by Fox News about reporting that Pence, not the President, approved the activation, McCarthy demurred, but ultimately said: "I know the vice president has been in constant contact with us and also along with security inside the Capitol, I communicated with the vice president early on. It was in regards to getting the National Guard there. He said he will call right now."

Pence took over as President because Trump wouldn't do the job.

It’s over for Trump and Trumpism. It ended when the Capital was breached. Mitch tried to warn those that opposed a legal election for a narcissist asshole, who lost the house, senate and Presidency. Nobody wants to be associated with the stink that follows. Mitch has been in the game too long to spread obvious bullshit election fraud theories which is why Mitch never jumped on the fraud train. He knew that play was never going to work. Those still hanging on the train after this afternoon are holding a losing hand.

After what happened today 121 House Republicans including McCarthy voted to toss out Arizona’s electoral ballots... This isn't over by a mile.

theyve lost georgia, michigan, nevada and arizona. pennsylvania and wisconsin doesnt matter, the election is over

You read these types of things and then you read people who suggest that Trump's behavior was not the cause of this violence.

He is without question the worst President ever. I hope that history is honest about this. This man has been angling for a violent overthrow of our democracy for years.

I'm not being hyperbolic here. As I've read his rhetoric over the years. THe specific types of responses he asks for. The way he framed himself and the country as interchangeable. His constant reference to how his supporters had the strength and, more importantly, the guns to not be pushed around. For years, he's been positioning himself and his supporters to overthrow any election that didn't end in his favor.

We've been seeing this build up for years and some people were so obsessed with "the left" and "liberals" that they completely turned their back on supporting the actual principles of the nation.

@Confucamus is in another thread saying Trump's calls for peace were censored by Twitter

There is a level of delusion that I just can't stomach anymore. There is no way any rational adult could listen to to Trump's words today, and not understand that he was intentionally throwing massive amounts of gasoline on the fire while violence was occurring. Even after somebody was shot dead, while his supporters raided the capitol building, he was still putting out messages to the deranged rioters reminding them that they were "viciously" robbed of the election and that the "other side" knew it, and that they were very special and great patriots, and that he loves them very much. His last Tweet said that this is just what happens when great patriots are robbed by a fraudulent election.

That's encouragement and justification. That's incitement. You can't justify a deranged mob's delusions, call them very special patriots, and then save face by saying, "But you should go home" at the end. It's pure idiocy, and thankfully almost the entirety of right wing media and most Republican politicians called Trump out to some degree for his despicable behavior today. Only the people who have truly left reality are still acting oblivious.

This was his last Tweet:

That's psycho shit. Remember this day forever? This isn't the Alamo, psycho. This is the last nail in the coffin of the despicable legacy of the worst president this country has ever had.

I just realized that Pence looks like Christian Bale playing Cheney(With a bit more hair and a bit thinner).
