It would have to go on for several days at least, I believe. And fortunately someone thought to grab the actual electoral votes from the Senate before it was overrun.

Not sure how offen this happens, but not only as a fellow fatherfather of young kids, but also as someone who believes in democracy, I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Democracy is a way of peacefully settling political differences via a vote. Inbetween we can try to influence, but non-violence is the key here.

If nothing else, this MUST be common ground.

I also hope this is a lesson for some, though. Trump did incite and rally people - and some don't have a natural 'till here and no further' built in. Words matter.

I’ve been firmly on the Balkanization train for awhile now but it would be really hard to sort out and almost certainly bloody. It would be one thing to take red states and blue states and make separate countries but the major divide is urban vs rural. It’s pretty much impossible to disentangle the whole mess.

If only they mass produced these masks we would have contained Covid 19. Our politicians held out on the technology.

The simpler approach would be to limit the scope of federal government. Cut it back down to the basics. They handle the military, foreign trade agreements, currency, and environmental standards. Then people could get back to focusing on their local and state politics.
 
I just witnessed an attempted coup happen in the US. What a time to be alive.
 
Radio says woman who was shot in neck died. It appears she was a rioter that was shot by law enforcement.
