IMO he basically looks the same as he did at LHW plus fat. Definitely there is some extra muscle too, but not in a noticeable and meaningful amount. His lifts are also similar to the “powerlifting Jones” days at LHW, so he doesn’t seem to have gained substantial strength. Overall seems a pretty dismal result from 3 years of “bulking” with access to the absolute best coaching, facilities, nutrition, supplements and basically unlimited time to train. We’ll see in the cage…

Yeah stating the obvious but it’s a wait and see. Jones is fat, grey beard blah blah blah. Claims he used to party before his fights (which isn’t unbelievable for him), coke, peds, total nutjob, all sorts of negativity around this guy.

Still smashes everyone. Never really cared for the bloke but he’s a hell of a fighter and is unbeaten. It’s a classic striker vs grappler match up and for me it’s far from a foregone conclusion. I can see both guys winning, wouldn’t put my hard earned on it.

Fucking hyped for Jones return, not gonna lie. I’d like to see him get leathered and slept sure, but that fucker has proved me wrong time and again.

And agreed mate, so many posters on here just sound like they don’t watch or even like MMA.

He probably only has a few years of motivation left in him; and it'd be fun to watch him fight regularly.

I've seen a couple of users here get called out by others for being an alt account; which is odd considering that we're all anonymous.

They're easy to spot on sites like this: Look for 2-3 y/o accounts with like 40 posts that like to make personal attacks on other users, or making outlandish claims/predictions/etc...

When he was bragging years ago that he is bulking to move up an weightclass i was expecting to see an Ubereem/ngannou body like for HW Jones but the dude is looking fat and slow on embedded videos, his face and body aged dangerously

I see Gane catching him early at Round 1 with his speed, Jones will not be able to follow the pace, he will be an slow and easy target, Jones might embarass himself with this return against the fastest HW alive

But people are backing him because he never lost and it's easy to root for the unbeatable fighter (jones/khabib have the same kind of "fans"), but they will see

How can you shot a succesfull takedown when you are slower than your opponent? Gane move like an Atomweight bro, wake up

It's not lazyness, it's the age that overcomes you. Your body put you some limits you didn't have at 25 years old but you have to face them at 35

We need Jones in the UFC, as high as possible, he is so good at that, at being a fighter, at being a champion, at destroying everybody we put in front of him, he is so good at winning inside a cage

His return is a blessing for fans

He is so good at being the villain who always win in the end

In MMA, if you are not GSP, you have to make the villain win, it's way more interesting

Gane is the good guy, but being the good guy is not what sells payperview, if Gane win or loose, his post fight press conference will be EXACTLY the same, he will smile anyway, say that it's just a fight, he is happy, his family are waiting for him at home, he will bounce back, blablabla some generic and boring stuff good guys said

If Jones lose, we don't know what will be the press conference because Jones never lost before

I'd argue that at 32 y/o though, he just didn't care any more.

i respect his run, impressive, but im so annoyed of his retirement, it was way too soon in my opinon, but it was his choice so i have no choice but to respect it

That's also why i love jones, he is the complete oposite of khabib on that, he can crash cars into pregnant women, ravage himself with alcohol and drugs the night before a fight, he will always try to comeback into the cage to fight and win against a new challenge/opponent and push his legacy even farther and beyond
