Edwards will ko Usman earlier this time

I honestly think Usman shouldn't have been given this rematch. I've always hated immediate rematch, it makes other contenders waits too long. I wanna see my bae Shavkat Khan fight for the title goddang it!! Or Khamzat Chimaev for the title.

In Adesanya's case it makes sense because he was a dominant champion, defending 5 times against 5 different contenders. Usman also has 5 successful title defense, but Usman defended against the same opponent twice (Jorge and Colby).

I also think Edwards will knock him out earlier and easier this time. We all know the reason Usman was able to pressure Leon from round 2 to 5 was only because of the altitude Edwards wasn't used to. Edwards outwresled and dominated Usman in the first round when he was still very fresh. This time, he will be fresh for the whole 5 rounds.

Leon KOes usman in 3rd round this time. If Edwards lose I will perform harakiri and post it on Sherdog. I will also leave SHerdog forever, I am this confident.

Yea. Edwards, the knockout artist. Must have missed that one.

Is this what you HOPE will happen or what you THINK will happen? If it's what you hope that's understandable, if it's what you think chances are you're probably wrong.

Usman will do everything he can not to lose this time. Will it be enough? Dunno.

I reckon he deserved the instant rematch due to actually being on his way to winning the fight. I'd love to Edwards to sleep him again though!

This is not easy. 100% cheering for Edwards, the same as last time. But I did pick Usman by decision last time.

But pretty much everything is the exact opposite going into the trilogy, than it was going into the rematch.

Usman will not have the cardio advantage he had in SLC. He will not be fighting in the country he lives in. And will indeed be fighting in the country Edwards lives in. So he will be in actual enemy territory. He’ll be lucky if 100 people in the crowd are cheering for him. While 17K will actually be booing him.

Usman is not on a 15 fight UFC winning streak anymore. Edwards is on a ten fight UFC winning streak (plus the Belal NC). The last time they fought Usman had been the last guy to beat Edwards. That is still true, but now the last guy to beat Usman is Edwards.

Usman got brutally KTFO by Edwards for the first time in his career. Edwards now knows he can 100% beat Usman. And Usman knows it too. Was the 7 months off for Usman enough time for his chin to recover fully? There was speculation going back to December of Usman having an injured hand. There’s been widespread talk of Usman’s knees becoming a serious problem. That would only become since the last fight.

Edwards is the champ now. And even without home cooking from the judges in Edwards favour, which England has more than just a few examples of in UFC fights. You gotta beat the champ to become the champ is now on Edwards’ side.

Usman may not be or fight the same. Is his mental attitude over the loss?

Every one of those things now favour Edwards. The only real positive I can think of is Usman is not under the same pressure this time. But there will certainly be some on Edwards.

Still not sure of my pick for this fight. But all that stuff I just wrote seems to indicate I should probably change my pick to Edwards this time.

We don't know it was the altitude, that's just what Edwards says, and its funny that the altitude was so bad for him, but they were even for strikes in the 5th round. Maybe the altitude will help Usman too? And I wouldn't read into the takedown in the first round, Usman clearly was caught by surprise and Leon wasn't even close to repeating anything like that in the second round. I don't think you can blame that on the altitude, unless he only has 1 round of cardio at high altitude

Leon looked bad post round 2 last time
But I entirely think it's the altitude in that situation
I agree ts, I will be legitimately shocked if Leon doesn't tko or sub Usman within 3.
I think Leon beats shavkat or whatever his name is
I don't think khamzat is coming back to ww, but that fights a toss up after about round 2 I can see Leon rallying and tkoing him or winning on the cards.
I feel like I'm the only one on here who thinks Leon is legitimately very good and a bad matchup for tons of top wws

This face will be the shoop template from the 2nd fight:

In my ideal world, the rubber match is postponed until Edwards beats Masvidal, and Chimaev beats Usman.

Anything is possible but Leon is not really KO artist and Usman will be very careful. We’ll see.

It's possible, but unless that KO has gotten in Usman's head, I doubt it. It's not like the first fight was close at all. Usman was working on a shutout, got a big too relaxed and got caught with something stupid. Edwards did set it up nicely, but it was still a prayer answered.

I will take the safe pick here and pick Usman by decision.

Just amazed how no one realizes the gay vibes in the thread... Not that anything is wrong with it but you know you are in 2023.

"My bae" ... TS wants to suck Leon's cock
And fantasizes about cross dressing fighters like Usman. LOL

I'm still going with Usman holding Edwards against the cage and making it an ugly fight for 5 rounds, avoiding letting Edwards fight at range.

On paper, Usman should win. In reality, sometimes after a champion takes a bad loss after a long win streak, they end up fighting tense, and as a result, get caught, only to be knocked out once more. But if Usman keeps his head on and has laser like focus to implement the clinch game, he should win, despite age, any wear and tear, or creeping doubts. It’s a toss up at this point for me.

Usman is gonna be in full safe mode this time and gonna try to grapple fuck as much as possible. He won't be exchanging as much and will only be looking to clinch, takedown and ride out a decision. Rooting for Leon, but the smart money is on Usman 29-28
