”I moved on Monday, so it’s been three days since I’m here,” Barboza told MMA Fighting on Wednesday. “There are a lot of guys I know there and I felt at home, no doubt. I spoke with the coaches and I’m happy and excited. I’m still moving, worried about this part first, but I’ll start training tomorrow.”

Barboza still sees his former coaches and teammates as members of his family despite the switch of camps.

”I love them, coaches and training partners, but life brought me back to Florida,” Barboza said. “We’ll continue talking. It’s a bit complicated now that I’ll be on a different team, but I love them all.”

The 32-year-old lightweight hasn’t fought since a fifth-round stoppage defeat to Kevin Lee in April, his second loss in a row. Barboza, who injured his foot in the fight, targets a late-October or November return to action, and wants to adapt to his new team before agreeing to his next fight.

Don’t expect him to stay away for too long, though.

”I want to fight as fast as possible with whoever the UFC puts in front of me,” Barboza said.

Back in the day, ATT was called American Tap Team. That would get your dubs on Sherdog.

Good gym. They have more or less the same style of striking there.

He and thiago alves can share lowkick knowledge and experience

Not a bad move at all. Dude needs some new input. He wont reach new levels sticking to his actual strenghts. Needs some serious wrestling and clinch work.

About time. Hopefully someone there fixes his game and stops him from getting pushed against the cage while throwing spinning shit.

Smart move. I love Edson but he had reached his ceiling with Team Pizza Hurt, but I believe he has yet to reach his ceiling as a fighter.

Too late, that stupid Mark Henry already ruined him career.

Good move, ATT seems to be a good team for fixing holes in one's game.

I thought training with Frankie would have helped his wrestling. Maybe Brown can fix that flaw.

Wow. On social media, him and his wife have always seemed ridiculously close with Mark Henry and that team. Must have been hard for him to leave new jersey.

No amount of wrestling training in your late 20's will bring you up to khabib and Lee's level. Barboza's problem is footwork and ring control.

Awful. Another guy at ATt. Won’t see him versus Dustin, Masvidal, etc

This. Also Frankie is small as fuck compared to Lee and Khabib, who’s weigh ins could sell pay per views because no one knows wtf is going to happen

Im sure it was difficult, but he’s saying nothing but positive things about them so I would imagine there may not be bad blood.

Hopefully he drills a ton of wrestling (even though he had really good TDD) and working off of his back.
