Edmen needs to slow down his career a bit

He looked much improved vs a better fighter than his last opponent. Arguably could have been a draw.

He is still very young, but yeah a step back is the only option here. Give him Jotko.

I can’t help but feel they’re throwing him to the wolves again in this fight, if he wins I’ll be wrong but they need to build him up, he has talent.
Yeah he's only 23 he needs time to get his man body and wrestling improvements. He's obviously not on steroids like Jon Jones was at 21 years old.

If you're honest with yourself it wasn't even close after the first round, he got his ass whooped.

This a bad take.

A) He EXTREMELY competent. He smokes slot if good fighters on his way up. Losing to the # 10 and # 5 guy in the world doesn’t mean he is bad

B) He is very young in his athletic career. He at least 5 year before he reaches his prime.
A) Rankings are kinda meaningless. He has been beaten into a pulp in his last two fights. Brunson and Hermansson are tough dudes, but come on.

B) Age is pretty meaningless when you take the amount of physical and emotional damage like he has. This isn't basketball were a young player can learn and mature from a poor playoff performance (assuming no injuries). The vast majority of mma fighters/ boxers significantly decline after two fights like Edmen has had, not to mention back to back.

C) Doesn't look very athletic to me

He needs a real gym. GFC is hot garbage.

Kings mma is 40 mins away

Imagine Edmond's butthurt if Edmen started training with Werdum.

He’s only training with Edmund because they are both fake “Armenians” carrying Armenian flags and shit. Like wtf? I’m gonna go train with Frank Ngannou because we are both French? Like what can he teach me? Swing hard and fast? It just doesn’t make sense. Shabahzyan has skill, so did Ronda, just needs to be honed in a different place. Kinda like McG with Irish Edmund, someone that just strokes your cock, isn’t gonna make you a better fighter. A better lover, maybe. But a better fighter, doubtful.

Apparently they gave Edmen a list of names to fight. Hermannson was the only ranked fighter on the list and chose him anyway.

Werdum is in my top 3 all time favorites. So glad to see his fight get reversed vs. cock guy.

He needs to retire and do something else in my opinion. I doubt he will. I don't understand the sentiment from some fans that someone in their 20s should stick with a job they clearly are incompetent at. His last 2 fights have been devastating to his health. He gave a pro mma career a try and at didn't work for him. No shame in that

That's some bullshit quitter mentality man. If every fighter had your weak mentality they all quit after a setback, yet there's so many who came back as champions like Whittaker, Lawler and more recently Charles Oliveira.
Also, you exxagerate the damage, he didn't get ko'ed stiff.

Edmen is super young and is very talented as a striker. He can improve his cardio and grappling a lot by moving to an actual professional guy.

I agree and I said this in the build up as well... loses to a grappler and they feed him to another grappler that is also top #10 talent in the UFC? Wtf? The guy's 22. He needs to be fighting the Trevin Giles and Gerald Meerschaerts of the world. The most he should be doing at this stage is someone like Holland. Not a top 10 grappler, for fuck's sake. Compare this to how they are building O'Malley.

My impression is that Ronda used her connection with Dana to get Edmen a much better contract than he would've normally gotten, and that Uncle D. said "Fine, but if I pay him like he's top I need him to fight top level guys to get my value back". Kinda fucked up, but he still has potential.

Edmund was literally born in Armenia. How the fuck is he a fake Armenian?

He looked like he was ready for the top guys after he KO'd Tavares. Tavares went the distance with Romero and Adesanya. Only Whittaker had blasted him out before.

But yeah, he definitely needs to slow things down. He's got serious issues with cardio and pacing. Looks amazing in the first round and then gets increasingly sloppy as the fight wears on.
Unfortunately he's seemingly like a 1 round fighter. He was looking good, but Jack wasn't going away and the kid almost inexplicably faded.

Comparatively speaking, how often have we seen fighters over come such an issue??? Also is his coach really to blame for his seemingly poor conditioning??? Can another team improve that???

His strength and conditioning is terrible which is why I thought he lost to Hermanson.

Well those are your opinions. Maybe your right. Most fighters who get fucked up twice in a row don't get better, they got much worse. I think you are underestimating how badly he's been hurt the last two fights. It's an appalling amount of head strikes.

I don't think his striking is anything to write home about. Even if it was, the rest of his game isn't good enough and I don't see any physical attributes that convince me he can improve to compete at this level. These are just my observations having watched the sport for 15 plus years. I could be totally wrong and I don't expect a guy like Edmen to give up on his lifelong focus, but it rarely ends well in these situations

Edmen may do better at 170. He just doesn't seem strong enough to fight at 185. Hermanson suffered from Covid and still beat him pretty decisively.

And it looked like he took quite a bad beating against Jack. So young and to take that kind of beating is rough.
