Honestly Frankie is elite at both Weight Classes. I thought he won BOTH the Ben Henderson fights.
Seriously the second fight was a frickin Robbery.

Who would win this matchup? RDA or Edgar? Frankie isnt stuck in the mud like Cerrone.
He is a frickin machine.
 
I love Frankie, but I think RDA mauls him.

Frankie is better suited for FW imo.
 
I think he beat Benson both times as well.

I think RDA gives him a brutal beating.
 
the first fight was close but benson won

the second frankie got robbed

as far as i was concerned edgar vs aldo was a superfight between two champions

as for the fight you mention i think RDA has other challengers to face

i would rather frankie went down to face cruz if he could make the cut
 
I think RDA might be too physically strong for Frankie. But Frankie has faced strong guys before. I'd be leaning towards RDS but maybe like -160 odds.

Frankie is a great fighter who you can never count out.

How he would fair vs RDA is a good question. His in and out style, wrestling ability, great chin and very good boxing would make it a 50/50 fight for me.

Whether he can jump back into LW and maintain his rhythm and make the proper adjustments is a question mark. Probably he will be fine since he doesn't cut weight fight at LW
 
He'd give RDA fits. He's fantastic at catching/defending kicks and is a better wrestler. Def a bad style matchup for RDA
 
Compared to when Frankie was champion, the average 155er is an extra 20lbs or more bigger this time round and where Gray Maynard and Ross Pearson were huge lightweights back then they are average sized now.
 
Frankie is a warrior. Can always bet on him to bring a fight. It would be a really good matchup if you ask me.

Yeah but he got an easy break when he fought Penn the first time so sh*t happens.

Anyway, Edgar struggles against guys with timing, TD defense, and good kicks.

I think RDA handles him with all of the above. Also, he is a high level southpaw.

He is good at catching kicks from guys, but that also means he has to absorb the kick first. Proficient kickers bother him. Additionally, guys that set up or time their kicks haven't been beaten by him (Henderson and Aldo). They have been able to snap out the kick at opportune moments.

Plus he's 34. Guys slow down at this age. I could be wrong, but some of the traits that have made him an enduring fighter will also be the first ones to go on him.
 
I think this will be a competitive fight. If Frankie can stick and move and score with his boxing, he can edge out RDA. He's a very smart fighter, has grit and knows how to win rounds.
 
I love both guys (Frankie all time) but RDA being a great cage cutter and pressure, Edgar's best chance is to hold him down (he can take anyone down). But i find that unlikely because, RDA is a wrestler and a BJJ black belt. So RDA probably wins that fight.
 
i really like frankie, not only his style/skills but also his will. RDA, however, is a very bad matchup for him. RDA would pressure/maul him to death.
 
I wouldn't pay to see that fight, probably my two least favorite fighters in the UFC
