Edgar vs Aldo for the interim @ufc 200

Well let me think... Aldo... Edgar... I KNOW!!!

Should be stripped...

Lol no way, Aldo is not getting another shot for a long time. Book that shit. Dana and Co. couldn't be more happy to see Aldo losing that belt, they can't stand him.

you heard here first...

And more important. who wins this time ?
Aldo refuses to fight for an interim belt and Frankie just wants to fight Mcgregor.

This will not happen unless they get paid millions.

Aldo loses...Mcchoke loses again.....then a rematch of the losers....

And not because I think it's a bad match-up, because I actually think it was a good fight the first time and would be this time. I just think if these guys get the title, it's because this guy loses it to them instead of getting it because Conor vacated it.

As much as I believe Conor should defend, an interim doesn't make sense. It hasn't even been a year since he won it. Cain won his title then took over a year off. Then he did it again. Also has gone over a year without defending. I think the cutoff is a year imo. If the title isn't defended or a fight booked within a calender year of winning then yeah, make it happen. Personally would prefer the Frankie fight.

An entire year should not be the standard for interim belts being decided.
That isn't even a very valid point in this situation. Because the fact is, the champion is able to defend but is not only choosing not to, he is seemingly ENCOURAGED not to. Call it protecting him, call it a financial decision, whatever. The fact is, the belt needs to be defended and there are several participants who deserve a shot at it, specifically Edgar.

Strip that leprechaun of his gold. I got Frank in the rematch. Possibly TKO.

Its been 3 months since the title was defended.
Stop making it seem like three years

Never happen because you lose two big fights for one co main or fs1 fight at most. Both mcg vs Aldo and mcg vs Edgar would do big numbers, million plus. Aldo vs Frankie2 is fight night.

I have said that several times. Conor should be defending. But it hasn't even been 6 months since he won it. I don't want to see the Diaz fight, but why should he vacate. Like I said a timeframe should be put in place, but even then, everyone knows who the champ is.

Conor has no intention of fighting at 145 again. It's harder to starve yourself when you already have 15 mil in the bank and a rolls in the driveway. If he can even make the weight again if he tried. I hope he keeps it real and vacates the belt

Yup, suggested the same. The whole 'interim' title is one big mess.

But McGregor vs IC Edgar at MSG would be huge
and McGregor vs IC Aldo at MSG would be poetic justice

They threw a pointless belt at conor, it's fair turn in my book. Plus the unification /champ v champ angle sells better. If that were the co-main I'd support it. At least it would leave no question in terms of the challenger for conor at fw

Which is no big deal.

As far as a simple timeframe goes, you're right. But considering the fact that it could have been defended and wasn't and has kept deserving contenders sidelined makes it pointless.
Guys like Edgar and Aldo are forced to wait (because why should they take a fight that could hinder their chances?) and guys like Holloway who should be fighting for contendership are left with uncertain futures.
It's really just about the logistics of the situation and the decisions that are being made.
To be fair, I'm not saying he should be stripped but I also wouldn't be against it. I understand both sides.

I think Edgar should be getting the shot TBH, but it is not a big deal to me to have a wait of 9-10 months.
If RR did not lose to Holly, it would be a year that her belt would have been tied up.

Doubtful. But if they fought again now, I'd probably lean Edgar.

There is no need for interim belt.
There cant be such a shit title fight where the champ is injury free.
