So Eddie put up another video of him rolling with a fighter a few months ago in Hideo Tokoro:

And I gotta say, I am finally seeing why so many people hate him.
Good to see he is feeding his ego with another one of his "watch me dominate x fighter videos." Its like he is clueless to the fact that Tokoro was probably thinking he was "friendly rolling" and basically flowing, while Eddie was treating it like it was the finals of ADCC. Do you really think your bjj is that much better than is? Or is some other factor at work?

It's the same head slap inducing, level of narcissism that allowed him to sit there and tell Rickson Gracie of all people, "I did this for jiu-jitsu," when showing him the rubber guard, completely ignoring the fact that the action pretty much equates to some former division 1 basketball player telling Michael Jordan he had a new approach to the fade away jump shot, and he was doing it "for basketball." And then proceeding to show it to Michael, implying that he should implement it to improve his own jump shot!

And lets not forget Metamoris, when he
was so happy with himself that he quickly grabbed a microphone, and said we owe this all to "Carlos Gracie," seemingly ignorant of the fact that there is a huge debate over who really "created" bjj within the Gracie family, and he just happened to be surrounded by the faction that believes Helio was the inventor over Carlos! I have my own opinions on who "invented" the art, and I definitely do not fall in line with the Rorion, Royce, faction, but for god sakes understand your surroundings and use some common sense. He wasn't making a statement on who he really believed started this whole thing, he was just ignorant and blurting stupid shit out!

I've stood behind some of his ideas in the past, and always felt like he had a bad wrap. I've even implemented a few of his moves into my own game like the electric chair, and some of his lockdown stuff, and I respect what he has contributed, but enough is enough. This guy really needs to put down the bong and get a fucking clue already!

I don't know where you're coming from. That video is totally normal sparring, they're both going moderately hard, as I'd expect when a fighter rolls with a very good BB. Eddie was able to implement his game, but I don't think that had anything to do with him beasting Tokoro, he's just a bit bigger and quite a bit better. I also don't think it's all that controversial that Carlos was Maeda's first student and did a lot to teach JJ to Helio, who then developed the art further. My impression of that statement was that Eddie was trying to give credit to the Gracie family for BJJ, not backhandedly insult the Helio side. He was certainly under no obligation to kiss Helio's grandkids' asses.

I'm not a huge Bravo fan for a number of reasons (mostly I think he is pretty self righteous in a weird stoner way), but I don't see anything out of hand here.

Telling helio grand sons that we owe carlos for gracie jiu jitsu is my favorite part of metamoris.
Carlos trained with maeda. Helio never met maeda.

Rickson is extremely full of bullshit too himself.
He claimed that he would have beat prime Brock Lesnar and Fedor in mma fights.
It's a giant insult to Jordan and elite athlete to compare him to Rickson who never won against anyone good.

sounds like you never really respected him. He also uploaded the video of himself getting crushed by Marcelo. You should go cry somewhere else.

I actually did respect him, and his thoughts on training more no gi. And if you think that was Marcelo "crushing" him, you gotta be smoking better weed than Eddie....

I cant say I didn't enjoy it myself, I laughed my ass off. But the guy is just stupid, and clueless.

I didn't see anything in that to be rustled by TS. If anything I was more bothered by the guys who didn't bother to respot at about 2:55.

Why you so angry man? If you hate Eddie so much just ignore him.

EB is a sensastionalist, that's all. He took the one thing he could latch onto and turned it into something big. Props for that.

I just can't stand his fake "revolution against old school BJJ" crap and I can't stand 10p dudes who spew that horsecrap and about the "lifestyle" (not all, just some like my cousin and his 10p buddies). Oh and his "band" makes me cringe...

hating on jiu jitsu guys seems incredibly petty unless they assault their students or lie about their rank or some shit like that. even the ridiculous brazillian guys who've said they've won 50000 street fights are cool in my book. they're sharing incredibly cool and useful techniques to the world. how the hell can you hate on that?

He is not stupid or clueless.

There is an agenda when he spoke about carlos or maybe he does not know.

Lot of black belts dont necessarily take a course in gracie lineage.

My team mate is a bb and roger gracie could walk in and he wont even know himm

Roger who?

Tldr
9-11!!!
I am eddie bravo, dur, dur, dur, conspiracy!

I don't know him, and have never even met him, so I could be way off base here, but Eddie Bravo has always come across to me in the media I've seen him in as a pretty down to earth, cool kind of guy. I kinda got the impression if he were your coach he'd be quite buddy-buddy and a good dude to hang out with.

Never picked up on this "abrasive" thing personally, but I do hear other people say it enough to make me think it must be there, I'm just not seeing it.
