An all time great LW arguably top 5 and one of the most exciting fighters ever with one of the best resumes of FOTY level fights ever.

PFL on the prowl-

Retire in “fan-friendly” UFC matchup or a “fan friendly” matchup with a non-UFC. Absolutely no up & coming juggernauts and no Glory/Bare-Knuckle type of match ups. Let him face a fellow vet in MMA rules and go out like that.

I think he should retire. It was pretty clear from his One run that he's very much past it.

I'd hate to see a fighter of his caliber drop a decision to Clay Collard, man.

The only thing waiting for a 39 year old Eddie Alvarez in the UFC is a brutal knockout.

Those days are well behind him. Eddie made millions and lives a good life. There is no reason to take more brain damage. If he can work his way into a one-off type celebrity boxing thing, go for it. Competing in a serious org full time is a terrible idea.

War Eddie.

With due respect to him and his legacy, he's at the age he really should consider.... not taking any more brain damage.

Yeah, he always brings it and I’d like to see him rematch Conor hahaha

I think Eddie is pretty washed at this point. Maybe not Ferguson washed but at almost 39, and seeing his fights in ONE, I can’t imagine there’s a ton that makes sense waiting for him in the UFC going forward. I think the PFL makes the most sense here for obvious reasons. New scenery, not as stiff of competition as ONE and UFC for the old vet, and a chance to make more cash than a UFC return. If Eddie does have any juice left, he could make a real push to win the next LW tournament there. The division isn’t too deep.

That or just go box Perry or Mendes in BKFC lol

He should train purely defensive boxing and wrestling along with jabs and movement. Go out and stack up some more savings while taking as little damage as possible.

He had a hard time in ONE. Couldn't get anything going. Going back to the UFC where the competition is weaker and he won a title in would be relieving for him.
Is the competition in the UFC really weaker than ONE?? Eddie is old. Prime Eddie could have been champ there. Pretty sure current Eddie would get murked pretty bad by the likes of Fiziev, Jalen Turner or Damir. I wouldn’t favor him over most or any of the top 15. Maybe you can give him Jim Miller or Alex Hernandez. Maybe an RDA rematch.

How are his hands? Underground King vs The Problem Child after Silva schools him?

I been a fan of the Underground King for years but I’d like to see him call it career here. Doesn’t have anything left to prove to anyone.
Ride off into that sunset and enjoy life.
It's probably not about proving anything at this point. It's how he makes money. Same with Floyd still doing exhibition fights. You really think it's wise to stop when you can make a couple million from fighting? What else are you going to do that can make that kind of money that quickly? I know Alvarez isn't making Floyd money, but I'm sure fighting is his highest earning option to make money. He should be setting up other streams of money though and start putting that retirement money on the side if he hasn't started already.
