Vice City was a huge contributor to my love of 80's music and politics. Many nights were spent cruising around flipping back and forth between Hall and Oates and a debate between parody versions of George Bush, a Christian preacher and a women's rights advocate.

I’ll never forget going into Best Buy on release day and frantically asking if they had any copies of Vice City left. The guy pauses a minute, walks over to the drawer and unlocks it. He pulls out the very last copy. He holds it up like “Oh this one?”. My eyes widen with a grin. Keep in mind I’m 13 years old and my parents are in the parking lot waiting on me. The guy says your parents knew you’re buying this? I need them here to sell it to you. I stammer a second and he goes “Just messing with you, kid. Enjoy” and sold it to me.

The later that night my dad busting into my room “Is that Working for the Weekend?! I haven’t heard that song in forever!” He watched me play a minute and said don’t tell your mother you have this <Lmaoo>

2000's had great music, felt like a natural progression from the 90s. Also the technology was pretty good but not intrusive yet like it is today. Fashion was mostly tragic af except that low-rise jeans on women >>> the diaper look they wear nowadays

I remember thinking we’d never make calls again and this was the future

I had this red Nextel Swiss Army knife edition, it was red see through plastic and would light up with bright red lights whenever you used it so it would hella stand out when were all hanging out in bar and club parking lots at night
I wouldnt tell anyone where I got it so all the gang bangers were envious
It also came with a Swiss Army knife
