Early reports indicate that UFC 220 may fall slightly short of 340K buys

Only Conor and GSP are putting good ppv number

Is anyone really surprised by this? Stipe has never sold and DC only sells when he's with Jones. UFC is desperate to get Jones back in the cage.

Yikes. Two big title fights, one with their spokesman and the other with a hot prospect. UFC May have seriously damaged their product with all the bad decisions they’ve made. Money fights and uniforms coming back to haunt them

Why watch 220 when you can watch any classic or highlight Fedor, Big Nog or Cro Cop video.

They promoted a guy who is from a country where MMA is illegal (france)
Good Buisness move....

(I Know he was born in Cameroon, but you get it)

Jones vs OSP did 320k

Yea it depends on who you match him up with. He's done as high as 800k with DC, 700k Rashad, 500k, Sonnen, 500k Belfort and Machida. The thing is at least he can sell when properly promoted and matched up. He also needs to fight consistently to get his name out there and stay in the lime light.

Well, it's not earth shattering. But it is still just a financial triumph

Between, PPV, Gate, and sponsorship $, and after payroll and production, the UFC will probably make about $15 million in profit on this. Domestically. And close to the same internationally,

$30 million to produce content that they will continue to make money on for years to come through their media rights.

They tried to promote a guy they thought might be popular and they failed. If they didn't promote him people would be complaining he's not being promoted enough.

Nobody commenting on how besides the two title fights it was a dogshit card?

That's fine. I'll be that guy.

You're welcome.

"Two fights and the rest filler" model sucks.

One of the greatest myths is that casuals want to see HW's more than smaller fights. The majority doesn't care about a specific division. What they care about is stars with mainstream appeal. Only McGregor and GSP can massively increase PPV sales, other than that UFC should focus on strong overall PPV's.

With all the hype behind Ngannou after the Overeem fight I thought it would do better (if the numbers are near right).
