agreed man, and theyve seem to hit a wall with graphics anyways. like the difference between games on xbox 360 and xboxone isnt worth $500 like the difference between gameboy and gameboy advance and then to DS. or playstation to playstation 2, which was mindblowing.
sounds corny as fuck, but i feel like WWF no mercy on N64 was a lot more creative and good for its time than the UFC games they put out now. the create a character/career/story mode was so much more rewarding and in depth. where you had a whole storyline that changed depending on the outcome of matches. like if you fight x wrestlers enemy, y wrestler will be your tag team partner. and then that guy can be attacked backstage and you have to go help him etc. its actually roleplaying with player decision making
ufc undisputed career mode is minigame->fight->minigame->fight
except the one thats: repetitive sparring for max points->fight->repetitive sparring for max points->fight. then respect/disrespect opponents for rematches
i would prefer a whole roleplaying thing where theres an actual story of a fighter coming up the ranks. you start in a shitty apartment and then when you earn money from fights you can upgrade to a mansion and shit. or you start with an empty gym and you use your fight winnings to buy/upgrade equipment. as you make it better, you start getting randomly generated fighters and a whole fight team. then the way you play your career, other real ufc fighters may switch to your gym and increase your monthly income or whatever. i dont know, im not a game designer but theres a lot more to be done than repetitive minigames and menus
matters a lot more to me than "look how detailed his eyebrows are"
