EA UFC 2: Career Mode & Online Championships

The last UFC game that THQ produced was fucking amazing. No idea why they they severed their relationship, but the first EA produced UFC game was trash.

THQ had that shit on lock, and made rapid improvements over the three games they produced.

How can some of you hate on a game that hasn't been released yet?

THQ is no longer around unfortunately. I can only imagine how good a UFC game made by them today would be.
How about actually hearing that it's good, from someone that's played the completed game, before falling for the hype?

It's not hate, it's based on the history of their releases, and the reaction of the fanbases. EA makes the same amount of money if you're completely satisfied with your purchase, or are ticked off that you got suckered, as long as you buy the game.

The trailers aren't informative, they're to convince you to buy the game. Nothing more, nothing less.

Wait until it's actually released and hear from people that played it (avoid reviews from big publications) and listen if it's better. There's rarely much difference and improvements in annual release sports games, EA or not.
Its a good sign when people are raving about the unfinished game(beta). I won't argue that the first game was hyped and ended up being garbage. The difference here is like I said, people enjoyed the beta which includes the core gameplay. There's a good idea of what the full game will be like this time around.

Sure the trailers are informative. You learned about new features and saw some gameplay/UI didn't you? Otherwise you didn't watch it.

This game isn't annual yet. UFC 1 came out 2 years ago and I think that's a good amount of time inbetween games to make improvements and add to the roster. I'm going to preorder this game so no need to read reviews.

THQ is out of business

I want to use Tony Ferguson so bad. And Tyson too

THQ went bankrupt and closed shop.

Edit: I just saw that people have answered your question, I apologize.

damn shame too. EA couldn't hold a fucking candle.
Meh, i'm in the few who disagree. Love all the UFC games, but EA's is my favorite. EA's first UFC game >>>>> THQ's. Kind of silly everyone compares their first game to THQ's third, that company had years and years to get to that product.

The ground game in the UFC game coming out already blows all of the THQ shit out of the water

I hope your expectations are fulfilled.

I watched the trailer and saw all the hype up for the additional features. But they're just said, not displayed, so your imagination can fill in the blanks for an 'improved career mode.'

And I'm not saying the game is not going to be better than EAUFC1. What I am saying is they'll do the bare minimum of improvements to sell (through marketing materials) it's been vastly improved in every way.

I hope you enjoy your purchase.

yeah but the product was there for EA to observe

I played the beta and enjoyed it. The Ultimate Team mode uses a roster of 5 of your CAFs and you get better moves and stats with card packs. I had a lot of fun with it. Also 5 round fights for titles.

EA UFC 1 wasn't the best, but it improved dramatically with updates. UFC 2 is certainly better than 1, and will only get better.

Does everybody have tons of spinning kicks like the first one? Is it easier to take people down when they throw said kicks, and is the parry system from the first game fixed/ better? I liked the first one after it had a lot of patches.

I honestly don't care if the game sucks. They added women's career mode in a sports game that's not tennis. If I didn't already own a PS4 I would buy one just for this game.

Parry system is much better, and from what I understand still being worked on. There are different block buttons for high and low which help a fight not turn into a parryfest

Moveset wasn't finalized in the beta, but be warned of Wonderboy's spinning shit

I lo
I'd love to be excited but then I remember that EA sports is producing it.

Sad, because I believe that EA MMA was the best mma video game ever (at least in terms of gameplay mechanics, UFC undisputed 2010 or 3 takes the cake for overall). EA UFC 1 was so awful.
I loved ea mma as well. I also like undisputed 3 as they changed the submission game to actual skill and not spinning joystick. I actually really like ufc 1. It did have it's problems but they did go back and fix them as well as add new play mechanics to the game. The only was shitty after everyone clinch spammed though. Never used the tactic and was able to reverse but it just got annoying after awhile.

Him having spinning shit I can respect

Right and I understand that. But they could have tried.
I understand why some didn't like it, but its safe to say they tried their asses off. They've been very receptive of feedback, and after the first game was released they dropped many patches which made the final version much better than the version initially released

I always thought if you had EA MMA's controls with THQ's moveset it would be the perfect MMA game. I played EA MMA and Undisputed 3 almost equally. They both had huge ups and down imo, neither one was great, just decent. I didn't like U3's predictable chin (3 GnP strikes and you're dazed) and the fact there was no chin/durability rating for each fighter so they all practically played like they had the same chin. I actually had decisions in EA MMA unlike U3 where almost every fight was a finish and barely even saw the 3rd round. I think this game has the potential to satisfy my MMA gaming desires, but it's still EA so who knows.
