Hey guys, I was looking into various things to improve grip/forearm strength for jiu-jitsu.

Anyone heard of the Dynaflex Powerball device? It was designed for grip, hand strengthening, etc.

Has anyone used this to improve their grip for jiu-jitsu purposes?

Thanks guys.

If you want to improve your grip you should check out the FAQ... they have some good stuff on grip. Devilsson also knows more than anyone about grip.. and also check out gripboard.com (I think that's the site)

Good for warmup and rehab, not much else. for strength, read the FAQ

Actually the powerball 350hz is a good device. It good for strength and rehab.
Buy the ****l powerball, not plastic ones.

If you think you have a good grip try the ****l powerball 350hz

I stick with my initial assessment: warmup and rehab, little contribution to strength development. Though I think the ****l powerball will be the next one I buy.

Stick the ****l powerball up in your snatch, and BAM! Instant pleasure.

Agreed, while the powerball is good fun , do proper grip / strength training to become stronger in jiu jitsu.

Grip/forearm strength for jiu-jitsu:

Towel pullups
DB Holds
Wrist roller
Grabbing sandbags

Powerball is ok but don't take it too seriously, I keep mine in the toilet and use it when I have a dump, its no substitute for a proper grip training regime

It may have uses for warm up or rehab....otherwise it's pretty useless...I bought 2 a while back....dont ask me why...

gripboard.com for advice on real grip training...

if u got specific questions i can try to answer them for you...

I imagine that wouldn't be too fun to clean off to use, or you'd be sprayin' toilet water everywhere.
