Get ready for a unique blend of open world and action survival horror with Dying Light: The Beast. You are Kyle Crane. After being captured by the Baron and enduring his painful experiments for years, you escape. But now, a battle rages inside you: zombie DNA clashes with human, and you struggle to control the beast within. You want revenge... but first you must tame it. It's your only option.Once you enter the zombie-infested Castor Woods, every battle will be a fight for survival… especially when night falls.

Play as Kyle Crane, a hero with the DNA of both man and beast. Freely switch between two playstyles and face a fierce conflict that lead to the acceptance of the monster within.

Push the brutality of Dying Light’s combat to the extreme. Crush skulls, rip heads off, and tear enemies in half as you constantly fight to control your evolving beastly powers.

The distinct experiences of night and day, a signature of the Dying Light series, merge into one unique whole. Explore and scavenge by day, but remember the constantly ticking clock. Because once the sun sets, the night unleashes horrors that leave you with just three choices: run, hide or fight for your life.

Feel the adrenaline rush of best-in-class first-person parkour. Jump from rooftop to rooftop and overcome any obstacle. And when that’s not enough, grab the wheel of an off-road vehicle and ruthlessly tear through hordes of zombies. The advanced movement system is easily accessible, but rewards those who master it.

Next-gen visuals bring the hand-crafted zombie apocalypse to life. Every detail tells a story of survival. Lose yourself in the majesty of Castor Woods: explore the tourist town, industrial area, national park, farmland, swamps and more. All full of beauty… and decay.

Band together with up to three other players in co-op! Brave the dangers of Castor Woods, where you can experience every encounter, every discovery and every twist as a unit with shared progress.

How did I not hear about this?

It's a true sequel and Kyle is back??

And it's out now????????

What a pleasant surprise, not to mention it's sounding like a launch PC title that runs really well.

I would check in on Dying Light 2 every once in a while to see if they made or were making a DLC that let the game live up to its potential, as so much was clearly cut. I'll take this instead! Thanks for the post man, made me a happy camper !!!

That's awesome. Happy to bring good news.

I would play the game myself but i'm still busy with Silksong. Yotei around the corner as well but i'll definitely get this game at some point.

It was originally a DLC for DL2 but it got leaked and decided to go bigger and make it a "full" game.

Watched a gameplay by (usually) horror Youtuber IGP and it looks really good, has more of the intensity that was promised by the premise of the original.

Hearing good things across platforms. I liked DL2 so have shortlisted this for when I'm LFG and not mid-game:

Don’t show Randy Pitchford this:

Dying Light The Beast is an open world co-op game and runs at a PERFECT 60fps on PS5 and is optimized for PC.

It has an FOV sliders on consoles, Only issue I can find is HDR looking weird and lack of Pro enhancement.

Great Work Techland!

Really like how dense this map is. These volatiles are a bitch too.

I like how it combines the open fields of the Following and city elements/parkour of Harran city.

I'm doing the Following on PC atm to refresh my memory as I only ever did most of the base game on the Steam version.

I played it on PS4 way back and forgot how big the Following's map was. I loved it, especially beefing up my buggy, and looting things for it, but I always missed the city and parkour chases.

I had to put a couple of hours in the base version before I could wrap it up so it's cool to go back to both. It's crazy how well Dying Light 1 still holds up graphically, especially ultrawide.

How far in are you in the Beast?

I really liked the vehicle modding aspect of the following too. It was one of those things where fully upgrading the buggy was clutch for finishing the DLC.

Right now I finished the first two story missions.. 9 hours in. I find myself fucking around doing other things mostly. I tried doing the first side mission in the National park and man it was rough. So far on the medium difficulty the game is pretty challenging.

I also noticed during the beast within mission the game is bugged. It doesn't switch between day and night the way it should. There were volatiles running around in broad daylight. Fortunately the game righted itself after that mission.

I'm glad they stuck with the menu UI from the second game too.

There's some hot fix incoming, so hopefully that fixes that day/night issue. That's one of the most important elements.

I left off last night with my buggy driven into water, and was stuck pretty far from a safe house just before dark. I'm only respawning in those hunter watchtower things. The terror from volitiles is real lol

Can't wait to play the Beast! It's still holding a 90% positive on Steam. I'm so glad to see them improve on things.

I couldn't wait to start playing so I fired it up last night and played a little today at work to test the Steam Deck.

The game looks incredible and runs flawlessly on my pc and surprisingly the Deck. It's hard going from m&k to controller, but I'll think I'll stuck with the latter for consistency.

You're not kidding about the difficulty either. I'm getting dummied out there lol.

I'm so used to trucking zombies from a full sprint. Its one of my fav things to do. I unlocked the drop kick but it's not the same. I didnt look at skills down the list, so hopefully that shoulder-like block from a sprint is in this.

I fought some chimera in the swamp then chased a volitile (looks like an experikent like us?) outside into some tunnels. I don't know if if it forces you to track it at night, but it was for me. I got into several chases with volitiles.

The night is so dark, makes it extra unnerving.

I'm glad to see Dying Light back in fine form. Many good times ahead!!

Have you played more of it?

I'm about 12 hours in, about to hit level 5. I find myself spending more time doing the side shit than the story missions. I'm trying to at least get up a couple levels and get better gear before trying to wander into the harder areas.

That fast chimera in the swamps was a bitch.

32 hours in now and game delivers. This is one of the few games (like previous dl games) where I spend more time getting sidetracked doing random shit rather than doing the missions. They really did a great job with this map. Super immersive, almost claustrophobic to the point where I don't even want to use the vehicles

Night time is crazy and even at level 10 now I still don't go out at night much. Hopefully when I hit level 13 and can craft legendary weapons and mods I'll venture out more to try to fuck up some volatiles.

I couldn't get into dying light 1.

I haven't tried the others.

This does look cool though. Sorta reminds me of Far Cry Primal
