News Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's film about Mark Kerr is still getting made

There's photos. And then there's how it sustains itself across a whole film. The uncanny valley effect is going to be a much bigger thing in motion than in still shots. They still haven't perfected the technology.

And there's also the fact that The Rock can only play The Rock in the first place.

I can basically guarantee that the whole thing will just appear silly to anyone who knows who Mark Kerr is. The one thing the film has going for it is that most people don't.
Could be especially when watching on a 4k TV.

I think it will be enjoyable for us old timers

It's essentially a dramatization of the original documentary, which, imo, is still the absolute best film covering MMA, and gets me in my feels thinking about it. I don't mind that The Rock pushed for this one, shows he's a legitimate fan. Feel like he's trying to get back into the good graces of the true fanbase for the BMF thing, though I didn't mind that situation nearly as much as a lot of us did.

what's interesting about a below mid can crusher level fighter crack smoking himself into being the 1 that gets crushed by cans? The guy made a name for himself by doing a drug named after a part of your ass

There are far more deserving of their own docufim people. The rock just flipped through a mug book looking for somebody that looks sorta like him and went "ohhh that guy sorta has my complexion"

Are you a new fan?

Division 1 champ in the division that mattered
Former ufc champ
Part of the first gen of steroid truthers in an era of Deniers.

Plus look at him. He’s super interesting looking.

You must think it’s 1960 or something. Get with the times

Benny Safdie is really talented as an actor and film maker/ writer. Him being at the lead of this makes it intriguing

How long does it take to remake the “smashing machine”?! Come on with it already.

why does the can smashing machine deserve a movie? The guy zero wins against any notable opponents in his entire life.
He has already had one movie made about him, why not two?

whats with the defenders of this undeserved docufilm using the near exact same wording saying "interesting" guy "interesting'' story ''interesting" this "interesting" that?

It gives vibes of the the paid for shill media getting their marching orders to put out some hit piece article and a megaton of different news outlets all come out saying practically the exact same thing in the same moment. Are you a plant from A24 put here to damage control the narrative and shill against any push back cause it sure seems like it... Interesting!!!

Why cant people just admit that each and every win in his entire life is against "who the fook is that guy'' and anytime you see a name you recognize on his resume it's marked as a big fat loss for mark. Obviously getting exposed as a can crusher came before he threw what was left of himself into the dumpster via the crack pipe. The guy started getting high from a depression dump cause he was losing. Not the other way around of getting high too much so he started losing. He crushed cans during his early run and started getting destroyed the instant he took a step up in competition. It's as simple as that. Stop Trying to blame it on outside factors.

p.s. the tournament championships are not real UFC championships. they carry about as much weight as a fake dubya dubya wrasslin championship... Beat up a few cans in a night and get called the champ.. pathetic

A movie is supposed to be interesting. That’s it.

Did you get into the sport this year?
