Dustin's KO destruction of Conrat to be highlighted in SuperBowl LVI?

That was 3rd fight
2nd fight too. Dustin spammed calf kicks, which is the newest mma meta that's currently being exploited to hell, because he probably knew he couldn't stand with Conor otherwise. Abusing a meta is pretty cheap. It's like when lay and pray was the meta, then wall and stall and so on.

Fair play to dustin and I still haven't seen the third fight but apparently Conor had an anderson Silva-esque leg incident which likely arose from Dustin spamming a meta exploit again. SO basically I mean, i don't know really but I'm quite salty.

Agreed, To make matters worse, he just broke his left leg, aka his only other significant weapon in his arsenal. Add to that, his confidence and durability(chin), seem to be teetering on collapse.

An mma boxer who doesn’t actually possess this famed one punch power, can’t take shots the same way anymore, isn’t a great grappler, cardio issues, questionable fight iq, it’s bad. When I say I think he should be fighting the likes of Bobby green now, I’m not joking. That’s the level I expect him to perform at from here onwards. I don’t think he’ll beat a top 10 fighter who is actually on a win streak of any kind. Sometimes it’s not who you lose to (Dustin), it’s how you lose.

His gimmick was always an all or nothing game, he kept it going for a good while. But the first time he would be finished by strikes would always be the end of his aura, psyche, and persona.

He’s too far gone now, but watching him get KO’d was strange in a way. All this legendary status, all these proclamations and delusions of grandeur, only to get snuffed out like a candle in the night, not in some epic back and forth. But KO’d in front of just 2000 live fans at Etihad arena…..

100%. Conor was like a freight train at some point, finishing guys so fast that no one could really figure out what his game was about. He took advantage of this by telling everyone what to think of him:

- ‘student of the game’ (I addressed this in my previous post)
- can go ‘all day’ (LOL)
- heart of a Celtic warrior (in reality, the wheels come off when he can’t get that quick finish)
- etc, etc…

Now as you say, that fiction he created has crumbled. He still has the unique privilege of being the biggest star in the sport and thus being able to pick his opponents, avoiding the fate of any other fighter who goes 1-3, but even this won’t last if he can’t beat any of the top guys. He really is on the edge of retirement now.
