Dustin Poirier use to cut from 190lbs down to 145lbs!

Do you have any proof cause I don't ever remember Grispi being the number 1 contender, besides if he were it wouldn't make sense that Dustin won 3 fights in a row after beating the number one contender and still didn't get a title shot.
Believe it or not, Josh Grispi was actually the #1 contender at the time right after the WEC merged with the UFC. I believe he was actually booked to fight Aldo for the title, but it fell through. He accepted the fight with Poirier as a late replacement, lost, and then his career and life fell apart and he ended up in prison.

As for why Dustin didn't get a title shot early on in his FW UFC career after beating Grispi and others, that's a fair question, I guess they just thought he needed to prove himself more. He got a #1 contender fight with Korean Zombie but lost so KZ got the title shot instead.

You entirely missed the word "most"
I agree with your post though. Know that stuff.

125 Bantamweight Brett Johns did 33 pounds
Barao 32 pounds

Poirier did 21 pounds 2 years ago. More likely 25 nowadays.

I have a hard time believing your numbers. Was that was Califonia State Athletic commission?

I remember looking at the fight night weight that was officially released, and fighters didn't nearly cut as much as water Sherdog claimed. In fact it was universally much less across weight classes. I want to pull up those numbers again

Hes over 200 I could tell over the last two weeks watching him at the Bellator and UFC events. He is def over 200 i think probably 215.

1. The man is RETIRED.
2. He's is of average height. He would be over bloated and chubby if he was 215 like you claim he is, which he's not. In fact, he said in an interview post retirement, while he was pretty much the same shape he is now, that he was 87 Kg at the time, and was working towards losing 2 Kg, which puts him at ~187.

I think a lot of fighters are exaggerating their walk around weight...

I'm assuming since he was fighting Aldo for the title but then Aldo got hurt. The point was that Poirier had never fought at 145lbs until the UFC called, you don't say no to that.

Agree to disagree man. I highly doubt he's over 200. I'm not a big dude. I'm 6'1 and 155 (give or take).

I know Dustin didn't fight at FW till he was in the UFC so I didn't mention anything about that. I honestly completely forgot that Aldo was ever scheduled to face Grispi, he might have been the number 1 contender for a very brief point in time so I think you are right. I think that must have been during a time where Aldo had beaten all the higher ranked guys and Grispi was the highest ranked guy that Aldo had not beaten yet.

It's very odd that Dustin beat him and then 3 other people in a row and still didn't get a title shot when Grispi was scheduled to face Aldo.

I wouldnt know because when I was a teenager I never stopped once to find out

Legend. I had a similar experience cutting weight in junior boxing. We'd sit on the bus spitting (saliva) out the window out of fear we'd gain weight on the bus trip to the fights.

Braddah I have nothing against what Khabib weighs now or when he competed. Im glad hes enjoying life im glad hes not worried about keeping a base weight so its easier for him to stay at a safe cutting weight. If he does a Mark Munoz more power to him. Im just saying based on my opinion he looks over 200 that was my observation. I also dont have to write in all CAPS to make a POINT. Maybe because I dont have to make a POINT and can just come on here and give my OPINION without caring because its just my OPINION. Thats why I stick to talking about MMA and dont get controversial because people get BUTT HURT on here when you talk about RETIRED fighter. Imagine if I brought up POLITICS? Your cap locks button would be stuck.

imo there is no such thing as a weight bully. there are draw backs to cutting and if you can do it better than the other guy well, screw that guy lol
This. I don't see it any different than having big natural power, a great chin, or superhuman cardio. Everyone has their own set of attributes. It's up to each fighter to use them to the best of his ability.
If you get hospitalized due to your weight cut then obviously somethings wrong
But .. but .. Khabib is a weight bully who fought featherweights!
The bully argument is kinda pointless but what isnt is how much he struggled to make 155
you shouldn't be fighting at a weight when you're getting hospitalized trying to make it (UFC 209)

So khabib has admitted to being over 200 before. Post surgery. Your excuse is he couldn't workout. Could he not control his diet? Yet now, retired, eating whatever he wants and not training regularly and clearly looking larger than we have ever seen him he couldn't be over 200? Logic mate

You'd have a point if he struggled after the incident at 209 but he simply didn't. Even in his last fight. Dude was in missed out on a 1-2 months of camp because of mumps and the broken toe, yet he still made weight

No amount of diet stops you from gaining weight when you cannot exercise at all lol. Khabib is training far less than he ever has and not dieting and still looks nowherenear as big as he waspost surgery. Just stop. Your gimmick sucks

Fuck cutting 30 pounds.. I'd rather just fight a weight class up and fight slightly bigger guys if I have to. Last fight I had I cut from 205 to 170 and felt like shit during and before the fight. Fucking terrible feeling..

He definitely looks bigger. Also nobody cares about your size. Frames and bone structure vary greatly look at guys like DC and Deron Winn. Khabib is a thick dude (no homo)
