fighting a blown up dustin does what? get him more money no, he is on a contract, More fans? No. he isnt a champ so probably doesnt get ppv points....so buys dont matter....You think this is better then Fighting Chimaev? or goin to MW to fight izzy? Its a stupid move

Yes I think its better than fighting Chimaev, cause he would lose that one.

I don't blame Dustin, even porn starlets don't want to be paid to get hugged by Coby.

Poirier was on vacation in Jamaica when Colby gave his typically tasteless callout of “Diamond,” and didn’t waste much time on a response. “Bombaclot!” he wrote in one tweet. Another since deleted tweet read “Maybez fight a welterweight contender?”

“It’s cute,” Poirier said when asked about the callout by Androl. “It’s all good. It is what it is. People want big fights. That’s a big fight. He wants a big fight. Obviously, he’s not in line for the title fight. He lost twice to the champ so he probably needs a few more wins, but I would think if you want to get back to that strap, you’ve got to fight welterweight contenders.”

“It’s working for him,” Poirier replied. “He’s got people talking. You’re asking me about him. But it’s just not my style. That’s what I dislike about the sport nowadays.”

As for that other big fight floating around, Poirier confirmed he was still angling to fight Nate Diaz and that a summer return was when he thought a fight was going to happen.

“Yeah, Nate Diaz is a fight I want,” he said. “I’ve been watching him and his brother forever so it’s exciting for me. The matchup would be fun for the fans. That’s more likely than the Colby fight.”

He also revealed that he was still unsure about what weightclass he’d end up at in the future, with both 155 and 170 being options

“I don’t know what I’m doing, if I’m going to welterweight, if I’m staying at 155, we’ll see ... it is what it is,” he said. Later he added “It’s just ... I can still make 155, it’s just how I want to spend my days. Like, if I want to be in camp dieting hardcore, or maybe living a little bit more of a fun camp where I can eat and feel like I can heal up and just have fun training, not hating the diet. We’ll see.”

“I’m not making any huge decisions right now. Just kind of playing the options I have.”

It would be dumb to take the Colby fight before the Nate fight. It's also a much better fight for the fans. An exciting banger. Watching Dustin getting drowned by a bigger, stronger grappler isn't nearly as much fun.

Colby is the one thats talking about Dustin none stop Dustin doesn't even respond most of the time. Colby looking for a easy fights to get another easy fight to get a title shot

No he doesn't wtf why he gotta take a fight at a weight class he never fought in UFC before just to please Colby Dustin been largely ignoring Colby and brushing he off Colby is hell bent on getting easy path to another title shot not this time.
They both talk about each other, they have beef. That's why it's not weird for Colby to call him out officially for a fight. Like others have said, it's a grudge match - it's not for rankings or title shots. Even though Poirer can fast track himself to the top of the WW division with a win over Colby, so if he's serious about moving up to WW it's the best fight for him to take.

Then let's get rid of weight classes. Problem solved.
You don't have to get rid of weight classes. Realistically fighters can fight up to 3-4 weight classes in mma since most like to cut 20-30lbs+.

Dustin said on site if Colby came to the Coconut Creek gym I believe. So why doesn't Colby go down there?
The most disturbing of this whole thing is Colby has fans that stick up for him.
I've had better insults thrown at me by a ten year old kid on the basketball court than anything Colby has ever come up with.
Yeah why would anyone fight for several hundred thousand dollars when he can do it for nothing. This has to be the most pathetic callout ever. I am not a colby fan at all but Dustin is one insecure pussy for calling him out and then running with his tail behind his leg while screaming "on sight". Like any professional fighter would do such a braindead thing. This would be ok for anyone but a fighter who earns his money with fighting. In this case its a very easy to see smokescreen by Dustin.

Well porier vs colby makes no sense but of course now a days it's being entertained.

Diaz vs porier has been in the works since 2019 soooooo

Not every fighter. But Ducktin has to take this one..no excuses.
Dustin doesn't have to do shit for Colby right now, like everyone said Dustin is considering going to 170. If he does go to 170 and not fight Colby then is ducking. Dustin only fought at 145 and 155 his not going up a weight class just to please Colby, you ignore trolls in life and focus on your life and what you do. Dustin is weighting in on what's the best steps for his career Diaz fight, move to 170 take a tune up fight first, Conor 4th fight, wait to see if Justin can win the title because that can get him another title shot his got options Colby is not a factor right now.

I rarely hear Dustin ever talk about Colby only if Interviewers ask him about Colby's insults. Dustin said his thinking about moving to 170 if he does move to 170 and not fight Colby is consider Ducking.

Nothing recent but a lot in the past. It's natural because of the falling out at ATT, it's personal between them. Yes if Dustin moves to WW and doesn't want to fight Colby after all the back and forth shit talking while having a personal beef with him, it will be considered a duck move.

Diaz.
For fuck’s sake, can we please see Colby fight a top ranked elite fighter, in their prime, in his own goddamn weight class?
I’m sorry, I just don’t understand anyone voting for the Colby fight. Colby needs to shut the fuck up and fight the Luque-Belal winner, or the Burns-Khamzat winner, or something like that. Stop calling out LWs unless he’s going to move there permanently. Nate-Poirier isnt quite the fight it was when they first tried to book it—but still a cracker, and makes a lot more sense to me than fighting Colby.
Pretty much all of this, yeah.

Dustin started this with Colby when he was trying to attach his name with masvidal when he was beefing with chaos

Diaz all day. Colby is one of the most booorrrriiiing fighters ever.

Well Diaz is a lot more winnable for Dustin.

Dp is a LW why would he fight a swelled up WW it's a bad match up for him..

I wouldn't do it..

Dustin never even mentioned colby by name with regarding masvidal show me interview or twitte the Dustin go after colby because of masvidal. All I heard colby keep talking shit about Dustin and nothing from Dustin then colby even did a fake apology to Dustin but that didnt help as he still got kick out of att.
