I always thought that Poirier was one of those guys that prioritized the undisputed belt over anything, even a big payday. Guess I was wrong. The boxing has been done but Dana and Conor have similar mind sets and would probably go where the money is, especially since results are seemingly not guaranteed for Conor in the short term.

I understand that it makes sense for all involved, but I think Conor should take a tune-up fight instead. Granted, there's always a risk he'll lose the tune-up fight, but if he wins, it helps make his case for being able to win the trilogy fight with Poirier. As it stands right now, I don't think Conor has much of a chance, and I don't think that as many people will tune in for the trilogy fight. The tricky part for Dana is to pick a tune-up opponent that is not obviously overmatched (like Diego Sanchez) but is still a favorable match-up for Conor.
