Rumored Dustin, Dana and Conor have all agreed to the rematch verbally

it still amazes me the narrative of the one round gas tank, didn't he beat Nate over 5 rounds? and gas wasn't an issue with Dustin, his leg was smashed, Dustin had a great plan and executed beautifully, its MMA anything can happen conor will be back 100%

He was tired second fight with diaz too. I think diaz even took him down in the 5th and ran out of time as he started to work him.

Cool, Oliveira vs Hooker for the belt it is then. I have no issues with the rubber match as long as it doesnt fuck over any rightful challengers somehow.

I always thought that Poirier was one of those guys that prioritized the undisputed belt over anything, even a big payday. Guess I was wrong. Nothing wrong with that tho, he would be an idiot to not take another McGregor PPV payday, he just struck me as someone obsessed with capturing that belt.

It does NOT make sense for Poirier. Right now, he can now get both the title fight and the trilogy with Conor.

This doesn’t make since for Poirier he should be fighting for LW belt in a title fight rather than Conor again.

No problem with a rematch between the two, but surely Dustin will want to fight for the vacant belt first and McGregor will need a win or two before getting a shot?

No I'm sure Dustin will take the money fight. Far as Con, he still gets to pick his opponents. Might not be the case if he loses again though.

This is a business first, sport is distant 2nd.

It actually makes sense for all of them.

Biggest money fight Dana can make for Conor at this time in LW
Biggest money fight for Poirier
Redemption match for Conor

He can also fight Diaz again but that reeks of a gatekeeper fight with little prestige.

I think Conor gets KO'ed again.
This is like Diaz all over again, sigh...

Conor's gonna win on the rematch by MD, and he'll fight paciaou instead of Mayweather this time in a boxing much just like their agent promised...

The boxing has been done but Dana and Conor have similar mind sets and would probably go where the money is, especially since results are seemingly not guaranteed for Conor in the short term.

You forgot a source.

Conor should do better this time. Poirier couldn't have performed better. I put them at even money.

I understand that it makes sense for all involved, but I think Conor should take a tune-up fight instead. Granted, there's always a risk he'll lose the tune-up fight, but if he wins, it helps make his case for being able to win the trilogy fight with Poirier. As it stands right now, I don't think Conor has much of a chance, and I don't think that as many people will tune in for the trilogy fight. The tricky part for Dana is to pick a tune-up opponent that is not obviously overmatched (like Diego Sanchez) but is still a favorable match-up for Conor.

Conor didnt know about calf kicks in mma.

Or.

He got kod.

Honestly, it's a pick your poison excuse, but both are laughable.

Anything other than Dustin vs. Charles for the LW title (barring a Khabib return) has virtually zero credibility from a merit standpoint.

The idea that Conor can get smashed by Khabib, then beat a guy in another weight class who got stopped in his prior two fights, then get KO'd by Dustin...and not only get an immediate rematch, but possibly for the title?!?

LMAOO - what a farce
