Mario’s parents immigrated from Ghana to Italy before Mario was born. Italy is by no means a melting pot, it is an old country, rich with its own culture.

Do you have the same problem with Mario claiming he’s Italian as you do with Dricus claiming he’s African?

Had there already been three Italian born soccer players make it as far as him, and then he, ethnically not Italian but living in Italy, proclaimed to be the real first Italian player, fuck yeah I would take issue with it.

He is born in Italy, he grew up in Italy, he lives in Italy, he speaks Italian, he says he’s Italian, and he plays in their national team.

Is he Italian or not? It’s a simple question.

people will say it’s the genes but can you identify what are Italian genes? Where is the cut off point?
