Drugged Out Drama And Great Fights At Conquer Fighting

Conquer Fighting held their second show this weekend at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond, Ca(30 minutes outside San Francisco)
Ive been to both of their shows and the overall production of CFC 1 was impressive for a first time promotion but CFC 2 was a big time improvement
Great building, large crowd, hot women all over the place, exciting atmosphere, full bar, 6 different food trucks serving everything from BBQ to tacos and even fresh fruit
This might not sound that special if youve never been to a small time show but anyone that goes to small shows on a regular basis can tell you that a lotta these promotions are shoddy as fuck and give you just a miserable overall experience
You could tell these guys are really serious about making this thing a success and hopefully replacing Strikeforce as the Bay Areas MMA pride and joy
Josh Thomson was in the crowd and Marshawn Lynch was there supporting a relative who was fighting that night
The matchmaking for both shows has been top notch which led to another night of action packed exciting fights featuring some solid prospects
My boy George Jordan had a first rd KO and Team Black/Skrap Pack/Cesar Gracie was racking up win after win
I think we had 6 wins overall
We had about 40 people there and everyone was having a great time til we got some bad news
My boy Juan Quesada was originally scheduled to fight anthony avila(team alpha male) in the main event after avila kept calling himout on social media but after the fight was signed avila said he hurt his shoulder and pulled out 3 weeks before the fight
The promoters of Conquer went out and found him what looked to be a tougher opponent in ray cervera but just a few minutes before they were gonna be walking to the cage cervera was suspended for failing his pre-fight drug test
Everybody there was shocked because no one had ever heard of the commission getting test results back the very same night
That shit usually takes weeks
I guess the CSAC isnt playing around anymore
There were still a few more fights to go but after this terrible news we just started packing up and left
All in all it was a great night put on by an exciting new promotion and if youre in the Bay Area/Northern California you might wanna check out their next card because its probably gonna be a helluva night

P.S. I was seated right by Sherdog legend the Raven Haired Security girl the whole night so I got that going for me, which is nice

Update : My boy who had his fight canceled at Conquer just got added to the Combates America card next Monday Night on UFC Fight Pass

And Cervera tested positive on the spot? Was he drunk or something? First time I hear about a test result coming back so fast, but I have seen a guy getting pulled out last second from an Amateur MMA bout because he drank too much liquid courage backstage ^^'

Well good luck to your guy, damn I miss these small events. My first live event ever was a "Team Hammer House vs Team Gracie" event and I had a blast, hooked instantly. I was going to all the Ohio MMA events with the guys, good times indeed....
