I'm not talking about drinking games, all that kiddy nonsense to see who can snort the most vodka or that sort of rubbish. This thread is for the sports you play indoors, with your mob, when the beers are moving in the right direction.
So come on. What's the best bar games - to watch, and to play. Cutting out the obvious chaff (bar billiards, skittles, bar skittles, all that bollocks), and only considering the big 4:
Pool
Snooker
Darts
Bowling
Personally, I think Snooker is the best to watch, but christ it's hard to play. I played every week for a good 2 years, and never got any better over that time. You watch the pros do it, and it's completely hypnotic, especially when one of the fast guys is on point. Then you go to your local club, and the table suddenly appears to be 5 times bigger than you remembered - almost like the weather's different at one end to the other.
Pool is great fun, but for me, it's Darts that's the most fun to play when you're on the beers. Everyone can play, to a degree, and when the stars align you can actually get a few decent scores, and even make the occasional 3-dart checkout.
Bowling - I know it's taken fairly seriously in the States, but it always struck me as more of a kid's game - something you do with your family or a lame kid's birthday party.
