Drinking from the glass at restaurants...

People are such pussies. All these OCD people raise OCD kids.. and then wonder why they're sick all the time.

It's the kids that grew up rolling around in the dirt that have the teflon immune system when they get older.

Yeah I think people underestimate how beast mode the immune system is.

99% sure I caught herpes off a glass down at Earl's. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Earls? sounds like the local gay bar, man. You sure it was the glass?

I'd rather die than drink a pint of beer through a straw.

You gotta live by male straw rules if you want to use one though.

1. Don't look into another dude's eyes while sipping from a straw.
2. Ideally make sure no one is looking back at you when sipping from a straw.
3. Take quick, small sips.

Same rules apply to banana eating.

For these reasons i never use straws or eat bananas

I once told a guy I never eat bananas because it looked gay. He just continued peeling his banana without a word. He then ''broke'' a bite-size piece of banana with his other hand and ate it, like you'd break a piece of chocolate from a bar. I eat bananas since then.

Earl's in Med Hat? I'm pretty sure I got herpes from flirting with the waitress there.

For the longest time I always drank straight from the glass at restaurants, never using a straw.
Apparently, that's seen as disgusting by two of my friends who are both waitresses. Is this really a thing? Are people who's job it is to clean the dishes really not doing their job?

Are there any other restaurant norms I should be informed of?
I got dishes at HOME that I have to rewash because I washed them too fast the first time! Picture a dishwasher at Denny's who's only got a few minutes left on his shift and has a mound of dishes to KO!

And yet when I go to a bar or brewery I've never asked for a straw....

You don't eat bananas because you don't want to look gay? You sound like you hangout with Supra.

I eat bananas like the T-Rex at 2:02. That way even if there's a silly buns checking me out, he'll think twice about any fantasies he has.

My friend's wife is one of those who won't drink straight from a restaurant glass. When she was talking about it and how gross she thinks it is, I asked her if she would use the silverware. I don't see the difference.

There's probably a lot shit we drink and eat all the time that is infested with bacteria. Even at home, it can't be helped.
I don't even bother anymore, just take your vitamins and look the other way.

I don't care about drinking out of a glass, I don't care about lemons/limes going in my drink.

Shit drinker.

If you're drinking water or other beverage that's being refilled from a pitcher pay attention to how the sever pours. If the pitcher touches the rim of your glass then they're doing it wrong as that pitcher has touched the rims of numerous other glasses.

Same goes for soda or ice refill stations. Cross contamination can certainly occur if people are taking their used glass and going and hitting the soda or ice dispenser with it.

might as well bring your own silverware

I'll tell you a story that'll make you sick.

Eventually they called in the head repair man of the appliance company, and he said that for the last few weeks the cleaning solution wasn't being dispensed into the washing machine at all. I threw up in my mouth a little after hearing that.

Honestly, I was expecting that a decomposing rat had got caught near the water jet system and was being sprayed all over the glasses on their way through.

Depends on where and what.

I never drink alcohol through a straw. The more expensive the food, the less likely I'm using a straw.

I'll tell you a story that'll make you sick.

About 6 years ago I bartended at an Irish pub, and we had a typical glass washer where you put the glasses on the conveyor and they'd go through the machine. It started to have problems, and they'd have repair man after repair man come in to try and fix it.

Also when I'd cut lemons for the bar, the head chef said that I was the only one he ever saw wash the lemons before cutting them.
I eat out all the time. Stories like these are going to make me paranoid.
On the plus side, my immune system has probably been made properly Swole from handling these pathogens.
