Check it out. This is pretty good. 17 18 have destoyed the world. Goku and Vegeta and dead. Gohan and trunks are the last ones left fighting the good fight.

Better than Evolution, which isn't saying much, but still...

Once the disney-Fox deal goes through, I believe Disney will now technically own the live action rights to DBZ. I would love for them to to do it justice. Some of these youtube DBZ fan films are great for the resources they are working with.

Do it

Haven’t had time to watch yet, but you just describe the history of trunks movie.

Is it just a copy cat?

Meh I don't want to see a live action adaptation I want to see money poured into the Animation so that we get One Punch Man Quality visuals in DBS or a future DBS movie.

That said these guys did a good job , and obviously love the source Material. If I remember correctly the primary filmmakers are a married couple from Oklahoma that moved to Florida to study film (I think at UCF) I remember listening to a interview with them , definitely have passion for filmmaking and of course Dragon Ball.

Is it that old low picture quality video with nice special effects?

I feel like DBZ on screen can get a pass with Avatar fantasy cgi effects for its characters and cinamatic universe.

That way no one bitches what the ethnicity should be.

Also considering the hair.

Realism, wud be cheesy and cringey as hell.

Dragonball Z is ready for a live-action film.

Seeing Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman, Marvel films like Hulk, Thor, Avengers etc. Confirms it.

A DBZ film should be a cross of Man of Steel (Goku is basically Superman on the big screen) The Raid fight techniques (fast paced and non stop countering) with a dashing of Blade (bad-assery scenes and relentless pace)

But it must be handled delicately with the right people with the right passion behind it and ofocurse the right budget.

Anytime you are making a film with super human beings who can fly and destroys cities in seconds it cannot be a B movie with cheap effects.

I agree that picking the right actors to play the part would be very important and probably the most difficult thing to accomplish. I can't even picture who could pull off Goku. Maybe a Japanese actor or a mixed Hapa actor with hair that looks real and not goofy and fake at the same time.

I tried to download one of these once, but everyone was just having sex. I think I may have downloaded the wrong film, but the production quality was top notch.

I just think they would have to invest a shitload of money into it to make it good. It would be such a difficult and painstaking process to do it justice.

Trying to capture the feel of the fights with basically teleporting multiple times in a matter of a couple of seconds while doing realistic hand to hand combat would seem difficult even with the cgi we have atm. MoS did have sweet air fighting and fast paced action and looked pretty good but DBZ would have to be taken up another level especially with the huge energy blasts even bigger than BvS to pull it off.

We are getting close though and if anyone will have the money to pull it off it is Disney.

There's another one called Fall of Man where Trunks is fighting Cell in the future, rather than the androids. Problem is it wasn't completely true to the story or Vegeta in particular.

....
There's a Japanese Fullmetal Alchemist live action movie with Japanese actors, so if that's good, maybe it'll set the example.
