While what comes after that is still enjoyable, try to understand why they seem way lazier from top to bottom.

Dragonball came first (har), it's about when Goku's just a weird kid with a tail. It was a lot more innocent and had a lot more humor in it. Dragonball z is when Goku's grown up more or less and when we learn that he's a badass alien and everything get's a lot more serious.

DBZ is a great series. Use to enjoy watching it after school with my Boy. Android Saga and Cell Saga will forever be my favorite of the series.


I can't watch it now like I use to back then though. Maybe because I oversaturated myself with the series.

But i prefer DB
Is more fun and various,and less predictable

today DBZ is fucking repetitive and boring
Was cool back in the time but characters (everybody let's be suppasayan!) are too fucking similar, all fight more or less the same way, enemies are ever the same pattern (alien transform, goku get blondier, alien transform, goku get blondier) and all is about worship Goku.
See Vegeta, everybody like Vegeta more but let's be real, he's a loser.
No matter how hard he try and how seem he's going to win, DBZ need to make him lose to bring in Goku in a blondy vs alien final battle

Repeat, back in the time was cool (even if i was more into Kenshiro and Saint Seiya), but today i prefer waaay more a thing like One Piece, and i will have boring time watching DBZ

Valid points, as I too like One Piece alot more too, but at the same time DBZ still has a special place in my heart

Well what you have there is a dilemma my friend.

English is way better for voices but the american version has terrible BGM.

Best overall version (I might be biased) is the brazilian one. Best voices while keeping the original BGM.

DBZ > DB

Oh and as someone already mentioned, don't bother with Kai or GT.

Personally I prefer Dragonball. It was more innocent and fun. Dragon ball Z was amazing as well, but i find I can go back and watch Dragonball whenever I want but Z i cant really watch anymore

Depend how much mature they considered the thing, if they see it as "for kids" we are all doomed

Luck for SS, Seiya tend to lose around 5 liters of blood in the first 1-2 rounds* against every enemy he face, so they got forced to give it a serious style :icon_chee





*before go in coma, have a flashback of his orphan chilhood, remember he must save Athena, stand up and do successfully the same Pegasus Thunder he have try 6 times before and destroy the enemy that die ever in "wtf i blocked it easy before" mode

Dragonball is way better than DBZ. I rewatched both as a young adult and to be honest DBZ turned to shit after the Frieza arc.

Dragonball had much better fights, better comedy, and a much much better story behind each arc
