I was watching these vids on RC drag races and got me thinking about real drag races and how dangerous and limited they are. So why not remove the driver and have it run by pc and remote. It would allow the cars to run at full power without the worry of it blowing up the driver. Or the pc could the get full power out of the car cause it could have better react time to gear changes and it would keep the car straight. What do yall think.

Also check out thesr rc drag cars.

TS, do you believe sports will be played by artificial intelligence in the future?

Great idea TS...
However I don't think you're selling it well.

I'm thinking this would destroy employment in redneck societies

I say interesting idea. Of course they should still keep drag racing around as it is now with live drivers, but maybe they can create a driverless league that will focus more the the science and machinery of making cars go faster by remote control.

So you are creating a drag racing event that's basically decided by a computer geeks to see who created the best piece of software to get the most out of their machine? I like the human element to it b/c that actually involves some real life skill, coordination, reaction time, and danger.

Maybe even a Mono Rail track. I bet those cars would be crazy fast.

I sense a major lack of knowledge regarding drag racing. They DO run full power, that's sort of the point of drag racing. But you have to have a driver to feel "feel" what the car is doing.

I used to love going to the track in my early 20's. The first time I went I took a 94 corvette LT1 6 speed, I looked it up and it was suppossed to run at least a 13.8. My first time down the track I ran a 15.2..lol... The human element (driver mod) is important, I literally made a quick car run the same times as a scion would've.

I think there should be two drivers, one on the wheel and the other on the pedals like a driver's ed car.

This

That would be ridiculously dangerous and stupid
Now put a third man in the back to work the shifter. And that's not a euphemism.... unless you want it to be.
Actually a race run that way would be a hella fun novelty race and require three really good drivers per car. Do it in open-exhaust Dodge omnis for extra fun.
Have you ever been to a demolition derby or figure 8 race? Dangerous and stupid is at the heart of all contests of speed, until safety nazis sterliize and homogenize that shit like Nascar.

This is the dumbest shit I've seen of Sherdog. Really...fucking stupid

But it's really, really fun. They were popular here on dirt ovals for awhile. We had a Delta 88 diesel stripped down and top speed was about 40mph. People got way to serious about it and starting coming with built up motors, suspension work, etc. It was supposed to be for fun, but it got ruined.
