Doo Ho Choi vs Yair

lol before the Swanson fight, everyone on Sherdog swore that DHC would KO Yair in 1 round and now he's a journeyman who'd get schooled.

I'm a huge fan of Choi but after yesterday I think he gets murked.

we know he has a gas tank,he has more than just punches, isn't flat footed,he has wrestling on top of his striking
Yair's hands are very mediocre. He's not very effective striking in the pocket. More than half of his wins were by unimpressive decisions. Yair ain't no wrestler.

hahaha THIS is so fuckin true. i read the same shit here on Sherdog

All this talk of Choi being like Conor

LOL

You're like the third person to post in this thread and not one person mentioned Conor before you. wtf are you going on about Boxing is life jimmy james?

Choi simply is not nearly as good as hype. He has no defense ....... kid has heart, a chin , and is really fun to watch but he's not really next level material. Yair beats him easily. Yair has a much better offense than Cub and Cub wrecked him. But I agree would be a fun fight but I think Cub should get that fight.

Ive been 3/3 in my calls for predicted matchups for Choi subsequent his arrival into the UFC.

Of course I couldn't have seen the Puig fight being his first, but I called a pool of three that included Sicilia in his subsequent fight. Then I saw Thiago Tavares being the next victim and most definitely saw Swanson as the next perfect fight for him although I had him winning that one convincingly which wasn't the case at all.

For his next fight I think the next logical step for the two is each other. To me the timing is perfect with Choi coming off his bad loss where he nearly got knocked out. Yair is a good matchup for Choi plus Yair isn't as good a striker in the hands department which is something Choi might need at this point. Defeating someone who has pulled the wool over some as Yair has in this Penn defeat would set Choi up with a top 5 opponent.

Yair comes off an impressive win off a clearly depleted Penn who seemed like he last fought 50 years ago. A win off someone who has instantly become legitimate like Choi would catapult the kid into the next level.

Choi destroys Yair though in the end so it all for naught anyway.
I cant see them putting Yair against a guy coming off a loss. He may get Cub though. I think that fight makes sense. Not that sense means anything these days

Choi would absolutely Merc Yair, and it would be relatively easy. Yair's boxing is subpar, and straight onches always land faster than looping kicks.

Boxing > kicks, when the boxer knows how to defend kicks, and throw some himself.

The Korean not so super boy gets picked apart. Yair is the future of the Mexican division.

Watching them both fight ....... u see something different?
I see a guy who spams low percentage spinning kicks and jumping kicks. Cub showed more effective offense in the Choi fight than Yair has in all of his UFC fights combined.

Another fighter is only good as last fight.

Tard

Doo would not sit there like a duck like BJ. Bj could not see anything due to yair speed. Doo will get yair biting on his feints and just dominate him.

The Doo Hoo nut huggers are truly the most delusional camp on the board.
