eh, lol at best prospect out of "asia." no man. that is a very dishonest, blatantly stupid take.
Forced military service seems to fuck a lot of these koreans out of some prime fighting years.
Matt Sayles wasnt that bad. Stupid guy for taking down Monkey King but only Bryce really outclassed him in any of his fights.

What are the betting odds?
Its a shame Choi has been out for so long. I hope he can make it happen. I thought I read that he had a ton of injuries that kept him out though. Is that true?
This one interests me a lot too. Choi was super entertaining when he was coming up. I was bummed out when he got smashed his last three fights before taking all the time off. I think he should get a KO if he’s still got much left. I’m sure he‘s still charismatic so I’ll definitely tune in to see him Saturday. If anyone has seen any footage or interviews with him this week, please post it.
Young Lee will rival Young Erick Silva in level of prospect.
A video of KZ sparring Doo Ho Choi. I think KZ is training Doo Ho Choi or something like that.
Choi was at one time a really exciting, dangerous prospect with clean technical striking and legitimate knockout power. He got pushed into a murderer's row of experienced scrappers after early success in the promotion and took a career's worth of damage in the span of three fights, suffering from injuries ever since. Now he's coming back after a long lay-off.
Kyle Nelson is arguably not even UFC-caliber. He's currently 1-4 in the promotion with his only win being a KO over Marco Polo Reyes*. He doesn't do anything particularly well and is basically a scrappy generalist. He's supposedly worked on his offensive grappling lately but he's by no means an elite wrestler. He was known for his chin and heart on the regional scene, but has been finished in three of his losses in the UFC (including once by Matt fucking Sayles). His striking numbers are pretty atrocious and sometimes he slows down late into fights.
My only real concern is that Nelson, at his most basic form, represents the "formula" which gave Choi fits on his skid: a scrapper who's willing to walk forward and pressure him, taking one (or two) in order to give one back. Someone willing to push him against the cage and dirty-box. A guy who wants to wade into the pocket and make it a brawl rather than keeping things clean and pretty on the outside. Choi had early success against Swanson, Stephens, and Jourdain picking them apart at kickboxing range, but once they were able to make it a dogfight he melted under the pressure and adversity.
That being said... I think Choi probably has more upside here. It would be fairly generous to assume that any version of Nelson is capable of replicating what Cub, Jeremy, and Charles were able to do to the Korean Superboy. He's just not anywhere on the same level and never has been. Now, does the lay-off for Choi worry me? Of course. But it's entirely possible that it has been good for him to recover from the massive damage he sustained in those last three fights and maybe he's even picked up a few new tricks and expanded his repertoire. I think a big part of why he did so poorly on his skid is that while he did take roughly a year off between fights, he wasn't really taking a step down in competition or changing much about his game in between each bout. And honestly? Even if he comes back as like... 65% of what he once was that should be enough to handily beat someone like Kyle Nelson. This guy had a FOTY with Cub Swanson who was only a few years removed from beating dudes like Poirier, Oliveira, Siver, and fighting Holloway/Edgar.
I'm taking Choi by (T)KO Rd 2. If he comes back as a super-diminished form of himself or if Nelson has made vast improvements I guess I wouldn't be all that surprised if he grinds out a pressure-heavy Decision or even TKOs him or something in the second half of the fight.
*Nothing to get too excited over. Reyes was a "live-or-die by the sword" guy who came into the promotion, scored four KO victories with his most notable being over the chinny Frevola... before getting chinned himself four times and getting cut three years ago.
Nelson is typically a fast starter, and with Choi's inactivity that might throw him off. But I reckon if Choi gets out the first round, then it's gonna go downhill for Nelson
Thank you JO!
Whatever. I still enjoyed it.um so the video description says
"(Due to a video problem from the middle of the 3rd set, there is no sound or a little bit is heard in the middle. Thank you for your understanding.)
Thanks to the fans, Superboy Dooho Choi's channel has finally reached 100,000 subscribers!! Thank you so much haha I will release the full version of the sparring video with Chansung hyung, which I pledged from the beginning of YouTube to 100,000 subscribers!
Also, many people cheered for the game on February 5th, so it gives me strength! We will prepare hard and show you a great image!"
so it sounds like it is not a recent video, especially since no one posts a full sparring video before the fight.
So recently uploaded, but I guess not a recent video, just fyi. But kinda misleading if he posts this two weeks prior to the fight, but perhaps I should've known better.
Whatever. I still enjoyed it.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBum I'm fairly sure I'm right. Choi has been a favourite against EVERYBODY he fought in UFC.
