Tyron has never denied it. I think it's true. So, for all of you saying Tyron washes him, you might want to think twice. Colby is a scary fighter because he's a pressure fighter, and he's hard to put out. He puts it all together very well, even if it's ugly. It's effective.

He "melted" him according to the post-fight interview.

I believe it happened, and I think it's very possible that we'll see it happen in the octagon. If Colby doesn't get too wild with his strikes but maintains the pressure, he could get Tyron tired.

What's the background? Anyone have some cliffs notes?

This is or he throws the wild entry shots like he did against RDA and Woodley cracks him. Woodley creates a lot of power without much space. Woodley definitely has been pushed pace wise lately that’s for sure though.

Colby claims he made Tyron quit with his pace in sparring.
Remember when Rashad was bragging about making Jon Jones quit in practice? How did that work out. Not comparing Woodley to Jon Jones. It’s just “we talking about practice” - Allen Iverson.

Tyron has also been calling Colby "my old warm up round"

So I guess he kind of is debating it

Colby is as much a one trick pony as Paul Dayley or Damien Maia. RDA figured him out but he did so too late. If Tyron tries to avoid his TDs and counter strike he will lose. If Tyron goes straight after him with TDs then Colby can't pressure. If Colby can't pressure he can't win. He has no power and no offense. If RDA had gone after him with TDs starting in the first then Colby would have gotten tired late in the 3rd or early 4th and been finished. Good for Colby for overachieving and getting a fake belt.
