Don't Cry For Matt Riddle...

He also thinks the UFC set him up with that drug test. Guy is fried.

I actually think that Riddle comes off pretty intelligent and makes good points.

Glad to see that he has a positive outlook. I'm sure he'll be fine.

He comes across like somebody who just got fired from a great job and is trying to save face--comparable to the old line, "this will give me time to get some things done around the house that I haven't had time for."

Gimme a break! Look I respect Dana for housing all the best fighters under one roof, I'm glad he made it profitable but he's always been a dick.

He's definitely calmed down a bit lately. Could be he mellowed with age but it's more likely that people called him out on his bullshit.

Give credit where credit is due but Dana ain't perfect and we as fans should call him out on bull crap instead of letting it slide.

Praise Dana for the good he's done but he's wrong in cutting fighters with winning records and holding double standards on guys who smoke weed.

There will be other places for him to fight, but winning in the UFC pays the best usually. I would like to see him in a Btor tourny, and if you are good enough to not need the UFC, well, you should become Btor champ and make a lot of money. I don't think Riddle is that good, but we'll see.

You won't have a chance to turn them down Riddle. They will probably never give him another chance. He's boring as fuck to watch and honestly have no idea why he's so popular around here on sherdog.

Smokes weed + doesn't like Brits = sherdog hero.

Yeah, fighting at small-level community event centers for a fraction of the pay sounds a lot better than fighting for a money-making machine.

It does when you can't even dress the way you want, and have to fight like a k1 stylist to keep your job or your boss will start calling you Fitch. Which is insulting to everyone there, including Fitch a former title contender.

Oh the fight went to a decision at the highest level of mma, lets call the guy who won Fitch, and cut him. Demian Maia sorry you're the new "Fitch". Lets not give the guy he beat any credit for surviving against one of the best BJJ guys on the planet.

But if someone gets the shit beat out of them standing, and survives their job is safe. True warriors.

Also when i say money making machine, it's not for the fighters.

Career Disclosed Earnings: $141,000 USD for Riddle. I make that in a year, and a half with job security.

If you were really on that kind of money you wouldnt feel the need to tell random people on the internet...

He complained that UFC doesn't like guys who smoke weed. Such an idiot statement. It has nothing to do with the weed itself, it has to do with being so irresponsable and uncompromised, failing twice in a row.

I'm a Canadian living in Hong Kong, and not an English teacher. I could care less if that's what you think.

We're talking about incentives to be in the UFC, and life long financial stability isnt one of them.

How is Riddle 1-0-2 if he failing twice in a row

I wasn't crying for him anyways. its nice to have his blessing to let it go though. Thanks Matt!

I'm sure I am in the minority here, but I actually liked Matt. I find it bizarre that he chose a profession that was in direct conflict with his lifestyle. I'm sure he knew marijuana was a banned substance when he decided to become a fighter. He should have made a choice then, at the beginning. In a year no one will mention his name.
