Donald couldnt make weight for 155, so Khabib was actually right when he said Donald pulled out.

Thus Khabib gets a replacement, im just wondering why the UFC kept this whole thing under the table and the report for injury was completely bogus.

It's a 160 bout now, couldn't they do that?

I figured they would have done a WW fight or a catchweight like the poster above ALAN suggested. Shame, I would have liked to have seen Cowboy vs Khabib. I can see why they wouldn't want to risk Khabib losing to Cerrone though.

I thought it was supposed to be at 170? If it was supposed to be at 155 then I don't blame Cowboy at all, he could put his health in serious jeopardy trying to lose a bunch of weight in two weeks.

Cerrone has a good life planned for himself after fighting, not likely he's going to cut that much weight at this point in his career in so few days.

Khabib explicitly said ANY WEIGHT.There was even a rumor it'd be at 170.

I doubt Cowboy is scared, I think it's some UFC shit trying to save 2 birds and sell the stone.

This was going to be my first live UFC event. Now, not so much. I'll stay home and watch the one round fight on fox.

They could make a 162lbs catchweight.

Didn't Khabib say he'd fight at any weight?

I think its a good thing for Khabib, because if he fought a giant Donald Cerrone at 170 who knows what could happen and would that even translate to LW credibility as in Donald moving up a rank on Khabib at LW - it throws everything off.

He clearly says the proposed bout with Cerrone was at 170lbs. Can we just research a bit better before we make a thread concluding a fighter couldn't make it to 155?

Wow. I just signed contract to fight Cowboy at 170 3 hours later he hurt his ribs and pulled out. Any other opponent for April 16 #UFCTampa

I highly doubt cowboy couldn't make 170

Pretty sure if Cowboy was to fight it was always going to be at 170.

Yeah, that...and didn't want to lose the Cote fight.

I thought they can make a catchweight

Cerrone is a decent draw. They don want him to lose back to back fights

I don't mind Khabib getting a warm up fight. If he gets through it quickly, maybe Ferguson in late-May?
