I wonder what the planet would have to say if some of the good PMs private conversations were to be leaked. Undoubtedly he's a man of integrity, and a straight shooter, so there would be nothing questionable in his conversations about his US allies or Islamic terrorism. Obama has had many questionable moments in his tenure, I'll agree but If Trump cucks out to Obama and the Pakistani President, what does that make him?

This is as dumb as when conservatives tried to paint Obama as a neocon as if it was some sort of hypocritical gotchya.

Or talk about his record of departing immigrants. When the other side does something you want, like not acting like a lunatic in diplomatic affairs, it's not time to critique unless you want to look like a partisan buffoon.
 
I think the left is running the risk of melting down into something similar to the GOP during the Obama years. Crying about Obama ended up defining them politically to the point where they completely gave up on having opinions on policy and just had little temper tantrums anytime he did something regardless of what it was. This is a big part of what primed them for Trump's big con.

Save the critiques for when they're needed most otherwise they just bleed into each other and become meaningless. Is anyone actually upset that he talked to another world leader without coming across as an unhinged maniac?
 
The main story in this is not Trump's amateurish lip service, but the fact that Pakistan decided to release it to the public. That's apparently very unusual and may well hurt relations between their country and ours.

Not that I'm worried... It's Pakistan...

This is a completely disrespectful thing to do to a head of state. I don't recall something like this ever being done before, does this have any precedence?

That they took this step, which everyone knows will be interpreted negatively, tells us that they're not worried about hurting that relationship.

Which is interesting because it's one thing to run these types of things behind the scenes but doing it openly suggests a certain level of disrespect for Trump. He's going to have to do something about it to preserve the dignity of his position and the office.
