Assault includes NOT touching the person. Saying "I'll kill you" is assault. Punching someone in the face is battery

I lost my shit at some douche bag who cut across our stern at speed last week when we were obviously trawling and took all 3 of our fishing lines out. Boats are dangerous and there's a pretty strict set of rules to keep you safe in place.

If the other guy was held for dangerous use of a boat, he probably did something that put either cerrone or a friend of his in danger. I got angry at losing 3x$50 fishing rigs. If you put a friend's life in danger by not knowing how to use a boat, I'd probably want to do something that would make me guilty of a misdemeanour as well.
