How many pro MMA fights did he have?

I just finished watching the Don Frye episode of fightography about the early UFC tournaments and damn what a fucking man

If you haven't watched it yet it was great

He of course talked about how fighters currently couldn't or wouldn't do what they used to do in terms of fighting multiple times in one night (yes he mentioned that fighters now know more and are more well rounded and are more skilled)

While it's not allowed by the athletic commissions I doubt that most fighters (aside from some like cowboy) would be willing to do it

We should all respect those guys for being fucking gladiators and brawling for entertainment

LEGEND of LEGENDS.

starred in Godzilla Final Wars, I've seen them all for being one of the newer G films it's easily one of the shittier of the Godzilla films but still that's pretty awesome sharing the big screen with the King of All Monsters!

"and then i saw Gary Goodridge and I said holy ballllllllsss"

without a doubt my favorite fighter from the dark ages of the sport.

Frye was one of my first faves.

Some oldies but goldies

Anyone can win 2 fights in 1 night, but it´s the 3 fight that tells you if you have steel balls or not.

The eyes healed in a matter of a few days, as eyes heal quickly, mine just heal faster than anybody else. I was back in the strip club hours later rehabbing my eyes.

My strategy is just to attack, attack and attack

Losing is like my ex-wife. It´s a bitch and it takes a bigger man than me to live with it.

Ken Shamrocks the worlds most dangerous man? Maybe behind the wheel of a car.

I would drag my pecker through a mile of broken glass just to stand in her shadow.

All southpaws oughta be drowned at birth.

Have you seen his ears? They’re like potatoes, looks like his head was stuck in the birth canal for 4 hours and they had to beat him out with a stick

I didn’t know France was ever in a fight. … I heard Italy just declared war on Spain, and France surrendered

Look at me: I’m a wrestler. My balls are so big, I wear the excess on my hat

On the preliminary card Shark fights: “That was like prison sex: hard, sweaty, violent and there was a lot of noise.”

I use to LOVE watching him fight....The dude would NEVER quit.

I was actually pondering if he would be in the UFC HOF if Zuffa didn't purchase Pride?

Best moustache in the game. Still to this day.

Manliest man

Just about to finish it. Dudes an American Badass.

Lots of great wars involving Frye. That Shamrock-Frye fight is a classic: both guys showed tremendous heart and grit.

Took the horseshoe outta Burt Reynold's ass and beat him over the head with it.

Uncle Creepy's is just creepy.
Don Frye's is manly.

don frye was an awesome and scary tom selleck mutha fucka.

also see sig.

Watched it yesterday afternoon, great episode.

Was always a big fan of The Predator. Tough as they come.

Why? I remember the Oleg thing but not Frye. His wins over Tank and Hall were obviously legit, so are you saying the Goodridge fight was a work?

The Mark Hall fight in the semi's was a work. Hall made a big stink about it and said that Frye offered to pay him money to take a dive. Frye had already beaten him at UFC X and again in another fight in Japan or something. Hall ran across the Octagon and got submitted by Frye with a leg lock in a few seconds. Then after the fight Hall said that Frye lied too him and wouldn't pay him like he agreed. UFC made a pretty big deal about it but at the same time kept it pretty hush-hush, I think this was one of the reasons why Frye never fought for SEG again after the Ultimate Ultimate, there is a great writeup on it all in the old Observers from back then.

Was a big fan of his when he fought, and i interviewed him once back in my journalism days...but...

All he seems to do now is shit on nowadays mma because he isnt a part of it,and that just sucks.

This all sounds vaguely familiar now. Frye knew Hall was tough and would sap a lot of his energy. They knew Hall was unlikely to win, so it made sense for him to throw the fight.
