I'm in full agreement, except for this part of your post. There was indeed a character in Fat Albert & The Cosby Kids named Mushmouth, who earned his nickname by stuttering/stammering and being hard to understand. However, Cormier sounds NOTHING like him, so it's a moot point. Just wanted to point that out before someone tried saying, "WELL MAYBE DON MEANT HE SOUNDED LIKE MUSHMOUTH!" Because again, he doesn't, haha.

Don't think he literally meant that he couldn't understand him. Think he meant that his shit talk is so weak that he doesn't understand where it's coming from.

There's a lot of this going, it's not even criticism, just unconscious bias coming out as angry gibberish. Yeah the Cosby "kids", actors repeating lines on a sitcom were hard to understand. No one ever said this until now, and then to bizarrely link it to Cormier.

1) kids from the cosby show

2) fal albert and crew which was a cosby idea (not sure of he was producer or what, but i think bill cosby invented it

3) bill cosby himself

bill cosby literally had jokes and cliif huxtable literally said "dee-bee-dee" and a variety of other what woudl be considered nonsensical/scat (mel torme) type sounds.

in any event, it is interesting that you draw teh connection between teh cosby kids and dc and the use of "ebonics or anything".

Well the other poster mentioned mush mouth, who I'd actually forgotten about. But don doesn't mention him at all.



I mentioned Ebonics because that's typically what people mean when they say black people are difficult to understand.


It's difficult to believe there's no racial component when DC himself is pretty well spoken and easy to understand, and to make his point Frye mentions other well spoken black people.

Let's not act like it's an unreasonable assumption given the information we have. Frye has said racist and misogynistic things before.


Now he says he can't understand a well spoken black person, and for reference he compares him to..... other well spoken black people. You can attempt to make it sound like he's really saying something else, but come on


DC is a good enough speaker to land a job as a fox analyst, he's hardly difficult to understand. He doesn't use slang or have a strong accent. So if he wasn't saying he's hard to understand because he's black, then what was he saying?
