Don the dragon was very tricky. Wasn't really powerhouse guy. He probably lulled people into thinking "this guy aint tough" and he just chopped them down. If you just see snippets of his fights, he looks totally ordinary
 
Miss that time. Sad that american kickboxing lost so much media attention since then. Was a great time and yes these guys are very much underrated nowadays.

He clearly has a fighters heart and mentality, by him speaking of fighting outside of his town, fighting under different rules etc. around 2:15 i think
 
What's interesting is that the reason Don Wilson became a kickboxer was because he wanted to prove that "Kung Fu guys" could fight and that was part of his background hence the nickname "The Dragon" and the use of side kicks which were not common in kickboxing at the time (though I do remember Benny The Jet performing sidekicks in fights) although his experience in Boxing helped too.
